The fact that you are just totally fine with gutting Tom Sawyer island, the riverboat and the river is insane to me. Yes it may be the “inferior” one compared to other Disney parks.. but most people on the eastern part of America might only ever get to see WDW. Preserving the history of all 4 WDW parks should be a priority and hearing you be fine with gutting an integral part of MK is CRAZY. Media list got you feelin different LOL
Hold the front door!! at 1:24 Did I just see Mac McAnally working on the new country bear music?!?
feels like they start a lot of projects (close areas/attractions) at the same time and things drag on forever. Why not focus efforts on one thing at a time.
The problem I have with Disney making large changes is that this leadership has repeatedly shown they will go cheaper, quicker and easier. Every change is a step away from the original spirit of Disney.
Love the bus designs. I wish they had the 50th buses but I guess it's too late for those to be die cast toys. Looking forward to more if they are reading this over in merch.
This comments section is scary.
I sometimes feel that Iger is thinking that Frontierland is nothing but a legend, meaning pretty soon, no one will ever believe it even existed. I can imagine what he's gonna say soon:
"One day soon, everything about the old west in Frontierland is gonna fade into myth. There's just no place for it anymore! Look at us now! We are completely civilized. That's all the future holds. You can either be a part of it, or you can just be left behind."
Yup this is my last year with Disney when my passes expire me and my family will not return. Great job destroying generational admiration for Disney!
I say Disney needs to revisit thunder masa 😂
Can't they leave anything alone? Who's offended now? The bears and the old songs were classic and funny. Anyone who didn't get it should get a sense of humor or get some help. Or do us all a favor and just not go and stop screwing this place completely up..
Sad to see the bears go, in the sense it’ll be IP music instead of original country tunes. Glad I got to see it one last time on a trip with my family last summer , there was a group of college kids in the front all on vacation. Clearly none of knew what they were in for- the one on the ends face lights up, turns to his buddies grinning, clapping, stomping (at appropriate parts) even doing the phone flashlight bit (off but mimicking) absolutely lost it watching the kid but it’s a great memory, probably for him too lol.
I’m glad they get to stay in some capacity. Really hope big Al stays the same 1.) because it’s the best part 2.) because it’d be incredibly funny if he never changes his act
One can dream anyway
It would be nice to see them do something more with Frontierland (even as a kid, it was overshadowed and confused with Adventureland). Been going almost annually with my family since 1990, and so much of that area is kinda pass-through outside of the mountains. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I ever actually went over to Tom Sawyer Island (unless it was once when i was very young). And I didn't even know that the Riverboat actually had a river track to travel until they started talking about these expansions to Frontierland during the last year or so (I thought it just went back and forth to the island from the dock, which just seemed like a waste of time given how short of a distance it was).
I know it would never happen, but maybe it would make sense to kinda merge the two areas in terms of an umbrella theming. Make Frontierland a Frontier section of a Adventureland with the Beyond sections being the others. That way the Bayou being next to it wouldn't stick out as much. And Tom Sawyer Island would become one of several Islands of Advent-er, oh, wait, nevermind. 😉
While it's always sad to see a Walt-era legacy attraction get revamped or replaced from a historical POV, the Country Bears always seemed like more of a one-and-done type show that you didn't come back to once you saw it. So, while I personally don't feel strongly about the change one way or the other, I'm sure the CBJ has its fans and I can understand them being sad about the change.
Make the riverboat a sit down dinner choice for Tiana and turn Pecos Bills to Tianas quick service !! Make the old Splash gift shop a beignet shop !
Tom did you get your Figment Exhibit popcorn bucket?
No to pecos bill being New Orleans restaurant!
Would love more Frontierland! It has always been my favorite from day one!
Our country started going w the west from the east. It is the story which everyone sy❤❤ be permitted to learn. Why ❤ta❤ke ❤❤it away? Sorry the❤. Keep showing up
Figment parade pin has him in the current ride vehicle… Does that imply a new ride vehicle is coming?
Does this mean we might get mud instead of blad on the saddle? We might have to bear with them in order to find out…
Thanks for the great content. Be back in two weeks!
im so glad the country bear musical jamboree has been greenlit
Meanwhile, down the road a new state of the art park is starting to eye a completion date
If they introduce a Tiana themed restaurant in Frontierland, I hope it's different than the one in Disneyland. I was pretty dang disappointed by the food there. Pretty much everything we had there except the sandwich was just not good
Western river expedition 👍👍
In the next episode can you talk about narcissistic men who control their partners and then discard them by cheating on them?
While you’re at it could you touch on how working for wdwnt is the Disney equivalent of the Ellen show?
Or is that too honest for you Tom.
They could be nice and give us a little more time to see it one last time.
You…are fake news.
There are too many clues pointing to the "Beyond" in Beyond Frontierland referring to the area on the other side of Big Thunder. The famous rock spire is in the foreground of the concept art. The concept art pathway is suspiciously L-shaped, just like the shape of the Fort Langhorn part of Tom Sawyer Island (which is actually two islands). And there's weird digging going on adjacent to the Rivers that might suggest a rerouting, which would make sense as Tom Sawyer Island North is not a very large piece of land and lengthening the route could keep ride buildings hidden from view.
As for what those ride buildings could be… who knows? Especially with Encanto off the table (which was a weird fit anyhow). I don't think a Villains "land" was ever actually a thing, especially with nebulous concept art and where it's supposed to be going, but now I wonder if it'll have to replace the Madrigals. The best fit would be Cars Land, but they are not going to build Cars Land back here, at least not in its current iteration. Maybe Route 66, maybe with the flat rides and the Cadillac range. But they wouldn't do Radiator Springs Racers after just adding Tron. (Plus, it's a space hog.) Personally, I'd move the Speedway over here, adding Cars cars. Coco, which WILL happen somewhere, does have the Mexico pavilion as an alternative. And, some say, Animal Kingdom. But if they try to shove it into a "Tropical Americas" theme, I will DESTROY them.
They hit me with a Disney Parks targeted ad before this, as if I'm not here to watch Disney continue to blunder into mediocrity.
i wanna see a villans theme land because i got some ideas like for example a villans theme resturant called house of villians where the villians interact with you and meet with fans and theirs a tv screen showing disney villians star wars villians and mcu villians greatest moments in history and a hocus pocus characters meet and greet as well
Now I know why so much talent has left— WDI has no coherent direction.
Splash Mountain was Southern themed, Louisiana is in the the south, get over it.
Ain’t no way you have the guts to take away big thunder mountain railroad
I am NOT against making changes or updating attractions, but changing them to cater to the .1% who feel the attractions are offensive and racist I am against. What is so racist about Liverlips that his name has to be changed, and why do they need to change Frontierland to cater to the new Tiana attraction with all the land Disney has to build another land. It appears that Disney is going out of their way to DESTROY Walt's dream. I have visited Disney World 14 times since 2008 and have seen the decline at the parks and the resorts. The MAGIC is gone over all the changes that Iger and Chapek have done to Disney as a whole.
The passion arrived after they destroyed Splash Mountain. People now know vandals have taken over control of Disney. Blackrock Disney now.
Wokeland.
Lmao of course Frontierland is now "culturally insensitive". Any long time fan of Disney can see this coming 1,000 miles away. Anything that depicts the American progress and westward expansion of the U.S. in the 1800s must be completely erased from history. Literally NO GOOD came from any of it I guess – not even the pacific train system, rise of the postal service & western commerce, human determination, ingenuity, invention, and the HOMAGE Frontierland pays to native tribes… nope none of that matters because Cowboys = Bad. Frontierland isn't long for this world folks; Bayou Adventure is just the beginning of the end. Enjoy it while you can. *Anyone who studies history academically knows there is the good along with the bad in any era of history.
not going to lie, I forgot Turning Red was a Pixar movie at all. Didn't really care about an animated euphemism about a girl getting period.
You can’t start and stop a land?! Isn’t Star Wars interrupted by muppets?
I want to see more of the wrapped buses as Die-cast
I used to root for Disney to succeed because I LOVE(D) the brand, but now.. I COULD CARE LESS about WOKE LEFTIST Disney. In fact, I'm now rooting for their FAILURE.
as a kid i hated country bears. As an adult i hated it it less. But was always happy it was there. And am glad it didnt get white washed totaly
I don’t feel Disney has any creativity anymore. The parks are a mere shell of what they were in the 90’s. It’s also very sad that each FastPass iteration has gotten progressively worse. The ticketed one was not too bad because they would let you arrive late so you could stack them. Prior to FastPass though, the way they moved queued lines was pure magic. The Magic Kingdom could be packed on a summer day but yet you could get 25 – 30 rides in if you stayed all day. You can’t even do that now we every pay to play trick you put in place. I’m sorry, but I don’t enjoy being on my phone all day to project manage my fun. I went to Disney so I could ignore the phone and the world for a while.
This channel used to call Disney out on their bad practices, experiences and makeovers. Something has changed because the only good thing Disney did in the past 5 years is they finally removed paid parking from onsite hotel stays. I realize this channel can’t criticize Disney too much because it is your bread and butter, but I used to consider it a much more reliable stick of truth. Let’s hope that somebody buys Disney out and reboots nearly everything.
I'm still pissed about "Mr. Toad" and "20,000 Leagues Under the Seas".
Pandora the world of meh.
More Click bait from the Click bait King!
Let me guess this stupid brain dead board of inclusivitity found something wrong with Frontierland that offends THEM, and now they’re gonna retheme it to New Orleans square, man for Disney wanting to be “inclusive” they sure seem to be taking out a lot of indigenous peoples representation, and taking out areas with the possibility of representation.🙄
Every year Woke Disney destroys more and more of its park history, its reputation, and itself as a whole. I hope in the future, humanity learns from their mistakes and repeals the woke cancel culture that has infected today’s youth. Nobody will ever lead this company the same way the Disney Brothers did. It was their park, their responsibility, and their legacy; leave it alone as is and cherish it as it once was.
