Good Will Hunting (1997)
I just slid my ticket across the table, and I said, “Sorry, guys; I gotta see about a girl.”

We all love ❤️ & miss you 😢 Robin Williams
Everyone misses Robin so much! You think he was complete? He keeps on giving!
You must react to Louis CK on Good Will Hunting!
School Ties has an even younger Affleck, Damon and Cole Hauser along with Chris O Donnell and Brendan Frasier.
Ghost with Patrick Swayze would be another good reaction vid, imo.
There are a few references to this movie in Family Guy.
Finding Forester is another great film
Awesome reaction. You GOTTA check out AWAKENINGS with Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro. Possibly Williams' best performance ever.
TBR Schmitt, you see this? All of it. it’s not your fault…
A great reaction to a great movie! My favorite therapist/client movie is Ordinary People (1980). It won Best Picture and was directed by Robert Redford (his first directorial film!). All aspects are top notch, and Mary Tyler Moore is especially chilling playing a role so opposite her popular TV character at the time. Definitely recommend it for reaction.
Also, Casey Affleck is and always has been head and shoulders above Ben Affleck when it comes to performative range & character depth. (When Casey goes hard in the paint, as opposed to being relegated to the this film’s “class clown,” you start smelling onions REAL QUICK. I have so much respect for his work over the last decade or so.)
Yeah, Gus Van Sant is one of the more…”interesting”(?)…[I think this film and “Milk” are both genuinely AMAZING pieces of modern American Cinema, (whatever the hell that means), but with regards to some of his other stuff, let’s just say I have ”a lot of notes & feedback” to put it lightly]. This is why the slow motion fight scene with those randos (and a few cops) feels a bit like a “Tone Salad” before the film can actually take off. If I had to guess, I imagine that Gus thought that scene could be disguised well enough for most people, I think the homage to that early scene in Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange” when Alex (Will) and his Droogies (Afflecks) get wasted while drinking (A Clockwork Orange’s weird drug-milk = liquor/beer) before prowling around the neighborhood looking for some people to inflict that proper jolly Ultraviolence upon, my dear & leal droogies. (Sorry, I got wrapped up in the bit, but hey, so did Gus Van Sant, as was the entire point of this comment. So…yeah. Nailed it.)
Great reactions Please do movies LETTERS TO JULIET and CASABLANCA and SCENT OF A WOMAN
The professor had Will's best interests at heart it's just that he came at it from such an elitist attitude point of view
Might need to watch Finding Forrester after this. I like to think of it as a weird spiritual successor to this.
have balls to do spartacus reaction ?:D
Fun fact about the scene with the Dog Race: Minnie Driver made a real Bet and the Dog that she picked really won. So that was true and real suprise and happiness!!
And after Robin Williams died, hundreds of people from Boston came together and stood in silence at the Bench were they filmed that monoluge to pay respect to Robin Williams.
The only death of an actor that made me cry. He is deeply missed!
You’re one of the few reactors I’ve seen catch that he’s lying about the 12 brothers when he first says it, props
you said once upon a time in hollywood in September. :0)
Both Matt Damon and Ben Affleck won an Oscar for the screenplay
great movie – hits different and harder after Robin Williams ended his life
Watch Awakenings! Watch Awakenings! Watch Awakenings! Watch Awakenings!
If you come from a stable and loving upbringing, I can understand why Will’s self-sabotaging is frustrating or confusing.
If you come from an abusive background, a fatherless environment or a broken home, Will’s self-sabotaging makes perfect sense.
If you haven’t experienced the latter, you’ll never understand it.
the wife farting speech was an ad lib to get a genuine reaction from matt. it worked
Regarding Henry is a great Robin Williams film alongside Robert DeNiro. So is Insomnia with Al Pacino and One Hour Photo. Chech them out, they're all great!
Killer soundtrack for this movie too with lots of Elliott Smith songs, great cues from Danny Elfman, and so on. It was the ultimate road-trip cd for me (and many others) in the late '90s.
This is the first written by them, however most of this cast minus Williams Started in School Ties.
Two things that are impossible in life:
1. To perfectly balance an egg on the equinox.
2. To watch Good Will Hunting without getting emotional.
Still one of my favorite movies!
This movie goes good
with another of my favorite Matt Damon movies Rounders. You guys should check that out. It also has Edward Norton and John Malkovich.
Love the channel. You guys are awesome. Please watch Prisoners, Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, Wind River, and Hell or High Water. All amazing movies. If you've already got them on your channel just ignore obviously lol.
The line "NOBODY studies it for fun" hits me every time. This is more true that most general classes, and the reason chemical engineers get a pass to be a more abstract & difficult discipline than even advanced electrical engineers. (exception is quantum computing.)
RIP Robin, such a loss. Always made me smile, and sometimes cry
Seriously one of the best films ever made.
This is such a heartfelt and incredible classic that I'm super glad to see you both watch and enjoy. This is a movie I sincerely believe everyone should be shown in school, especially psych 101.
Great choice!
Watching (and reading) this movie was a big part of my creative writing class in high school when we studied screenwriting, they did such a good job with this script
The Talented Mr Ripley is another early Matt Damon film that gets pretty dark, definitely recommend it
Hey silly gooses. That scarsguard or how ever you spell it is the dad of all those scarsguards
Fun fact: The story Robin Williams told about his wife farting in her sleep was improvised. Matt Damon was actually cracking up.
For a beautiful and very weird movie starring Robin Williams, try "The World According to Garp."
I love the reaction but you cut certain scenes and monologues short that makes the film seem incomplete, someone who may be seeing this movie through your reaction for the first time probably wouldn’t be able to understand or keep up with the storyline. Just something to maybe keep in mind
I like when your cute little face lights up at the funny parts.😆😆😆😆
"It's not your fault"
Gets me every time. 😭
Awakenings is Robin Williams at his best
The next Robin Williams movie to watch is Dead Poet Society. It is another serious role; I kind of like his serious movies more than his comedies
This was a fantastic review. Love Samantha's reaction to all of the characters…..plus you guys are a cute couple. 💕
Hi guys please react to Sleepers (1996).. not regret I promise
One bit I liked about the 12 brothers lie, and it's a detail: While he does switch up the order of the brothers, the names are all the same. So matt would've had to learn two nearly identical lines that have to done AT speed, and hit it in a way that looks completely off-the-cuff.
One of the greats
Although the professor is a pompous ass at times, he is instrumental in the development and change in Will. He gets him out of prison and tries to get him help. He also is also the bridge to Will and Shawn. Without the professor, Will would never have met Shawn, who understood Will better than any therapist.
