Gold Dupe – New World's Latest Exploit

It feels like every few days a new exploit that has massive implications is brought to light. We’ve had mass reporting players resulting in bans, multiple lag exploits for winning wars, multiple invulnerability exploits to name a few and now comes transfers breaking character persistence for players and introducing a gold dupe. A dupe AGS knew about for multiple hours while leaving the service live and now we’re supposed to trust that the damage is contained, they are capable of running it back for individuals only and this not impacting servers at all. Whether they can or not isn’t something I can answer, what I can say is that after the game being out less than a month, my confidence in this development team is almost 0.

  1. "MAYBE" amazon doesn't care to the game because in the 1st place they are the winner!! Imagine how many purchased the game how much money they get! They know mmorpg is not good genre they want only to get their money back! Its like they sell defective item to many people with one rules "no return no exchange"

  2. Gold dupe in New World isn't even that impactful like in it would be in Guild Wars 2.
Day 2 and I could gear myself for every level for like 100 gold.
It pretty much solves the problem for Guilds where you can't generate an upkeep for cities.

  3. Hard agree here. It sucks because I really do think the game can be a great game and I want this game to succeed, but this multi-billion dollar company needs to wake tf up and actually put some time into meaningful fixes and correcting things instead of having community managers do PR damage control and the devs implementing half-assed fixes in the form of tiny band-aids.

  4. Its their first MMO , they are doing a fine job…..it only really hurts sweaty players who are maxed out….normal ppl are like at level 40 right now and enjoying the game….and its 40$ if you can't afford that you shouldn't be reproducing

  5. Does Amazon Game Studio really have to repeat history? With games either being scrapped left and right or stuck in development hell it's no wonder how the situation has gotten this bad. Please pull yourself together. It's not funny anymore how many AAA games are this broken on launch. I wouldn't wish this mess on my worst biggest enemies.

  6. It's a bit naive thinking you can actually transfer between continent server clusters, it's on the people that actually thinking you would be able to do that

  7. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. I agree with you 100 pct. We lost our zone and it killed our company (the biggest one on the server at launch) this hurt my feelings soooooo bad. They can never make that back up to us.

  8. im pretty sure this is why transfers were not originally going to be available yet, but as always, the playerbase rushes and complains about it. so in a way, you got what can be expected.

  9. Their bugs, they will get gud and be better. People have to play to break things, and this is Amazon's first mmo. Give them some time. Things can't get any worse. It can only get better.

  10. The biggest issue I have, and that you touch on, is Amazon's inability to act on the fallout of these errors and bugs. Errors and bugs can be corrected but if the impact they had isn't, what's the point.

  11. New World is a shining example of how marketing and having capital is more important than the product. NW is a buggy, subpar game but Amazon had the money to plaster advertisements everywhere and pay enough creators to generate hype. Admittedly I gave in and jumped on the hype train.

After playing the game for a bit, its just straight up garbage. Combat is awful. REALLY awful. Questing is awful and uninspired. The story is awful. Crafting/gathering is mind numbingly braindead and already becoming grossly over saturated. Manually running everywhere on a character that couldn't beat my grandmom in a footrace is truly horrendous. Everything boils down to fetch quest simulator.

And that's just stuff that's functioning as intended. NW is nothing more than the latest overhyped bandwagon with a pretty bow on top.

  12. I don't play new world, and i do enjoy your channel, but I don't think this is a very good take. The drawback of doing a server rollback for 10 hours would impact tons of players, whereas the impact of duping wasn't noticeable on your server, yet. So, seems like it makes a lot of sense they didn't roll back and actually put out a statement. Your trust, or distrust, may be warranted, but in this case, this particular problem doesn't seem massive, by your own admission. I think you're using the wrong example to make a legit point.

  13. when u said people make server lag so they can win wars u really made clear that you havent played the siege more then a few times. if the server lag, everyone lags, there is no merit in it. but if u talk shit as usual just for click bait its all right

  14. Doesn't matter if they leave the gold, it will dry up due to deflation in the game ATM. They just need to punish the people who created the gold to set a precedent.

Super glad they didn't close realms or roll back. Currently gold is going down after main quest gold evaporates and towns having invasions delete gold.

  15. Today I was stuck in Amrine for half an hour. Fell down the pit right at the start and I couldn't believe it but if you dont die from fall damage youre just stuck there even after the dugeon is done

  16. It shows that this studio is run by the marketing and sale dept, rather than the people who actually understand the industry.
The gaming community needed to bail on this project and make a statement to the entire industry.

  17. While it is a really nice looking game and does play well, it really has turned into a shit show. I wish I never bothered buying it, I gave up on it after a week. But then I really dont like pvp, so even though you have to flag for pvp, I just hit that wall where I had noticed that I had seen everything. It really is a soulless game.

  18. sorry to break it to you but pretty much every mmo had gold dupe solutions sometime or multiple times throughout, it's more of a matter how they will deal with it, should be straight forward to track insane gold increase acquisition down. Other stuff obviously should be fixed, but some are just issues with branches merges most likely and can't be "just tested before release" . I have a bunch of issues with the game mostly with the amount of stuff you need to get professions higher than 100(mostly furnishing and few others) and them increasing then nerfing components drops, it makes that part of the game quite awful and makes me wanna just hold on and wait for fixes, patches, boosts to rates and whatnot as it will definitely feel like time wasted now when it will get significantly easier in a bit and doing it just for the bragging rights that "it was hard back in my days" isn't really compelling lol

  19. While constructive criticism is good and warranted my problem with your video only is 1 statement when you say and claim the developers and studio don’t care about their game which is entirely false. Not only is it unwarranted but it is completely irresponsible by someone with an audience which relies on your coverage to throw out an accusation like that only harms your stance.

Rest of the video I agree with – you need to not flame the devs and community managers. At no point did the devs look at that 20 day server thing and say “tough shit” they said they couldn’t roll back because there was no snapshot that far back of the game state.

Gold dupe and item duplication glitches and bugs – happen in almost every online MMO. I have seen in it every MMO I have played – you shouldn’t be holding AGS to this high pedestal they haven’t earned. Just because they have money from Amazon doesn’t mean they are invulnerable and glitch exploit free.

You need to choose your ranting words better.

  20. i rarely leave a comment but damn that's some facts there, i agree with everything you said and what i just dont get is people defending the game without realisig that this feels more like a 40 dollar beta rather than a full game

  21. I think that if we give them enough time everything will be fixed and the game will become the solid MOORPG that we've always wanted. Most of the game breaking bugs require a lot of testing to be found, and some of the exploits require a lot of clever people to play the game, to be found. It's all about patience for me. The game has great potential and this won't change. I feel good playing it.

  22. Gold dupe, invulnerability exploit, strength bug, armour bugs that don't properly give the stated amount of damage/healing, I love the game but I can't see when these bugs will get fixed, we're basically beta testing in live servers.

  23. Bwahahah, more reason for me to stay away from this burning mess of a MMO. Even if they fix the bugs/exploits, they'll turn this game in to a P2W/P2Progress in a few more quarters.
