7:02 Yeah, the hair color thing's on Toriyama, it wasn't something he worried too much about. When he jumped in on Battle of Gods' production and started designing characters, he made Android 18's hair purple, Bulma's blue, and Trunks' blue. Toei changed them back to blonde, blue-green, and purple, but when it came to his Super designs, I guess no one had it in them to mess around too much with his colors, so there's inconsistencies.

Trunks’ hair is blue because that’s the way Bulma’s hair was, so technically he got it from her. At the start of OG Dragonball when Bulma was a lot younger she had purple hair, but the older she got it turned blue in Dragon Ball Z, that’s why Trunks has blue hair now, I guess it’s a genetic thing, it was purple in Dragonball Z and turned blue.
Fun fact:Future trunks would be 31 rn
From what I know future trunks hair was suppose to be Blue and Bulmas hair was suppose to be Purple

Trunks hair in DB Super is blue because originally Toriyama was going to have Trunks hair blue but when they first designed Trunks, they made it lavender by accident the first episode of him returning in DBZ so they left it like that in DBZ . When Super started they wanted to follow the original Trunks hair design so they did it here

Trunks' hair is a Toriyama choice. When it comes to Brief, Bulma, Trunks and Bra he's changed their color a few times. Bulma by herself has had green, blue, blond and purple. Some time back in Dragon Ball he seemed to settle on purple. Canonically they have the same color however he kept changing it. Likely due to forgetting at times what to use. When he was working on Battle of Gods I believe his concept designs for them had blue hair and 18 had gray hair though the movie staff corrected him later. When they proceeded with Ressurection'F' though it seemed that he put his foot down and decided on Bulma's family hair color gene being blue. This is now reflected in the comics, however the anime staff did not switch up present Trunks' hair.
