  1. Yeah, that wouldn't happen. If an alien force attacked Earth and we fought them to a standstill, and the aliens wanted peace, there would be a fairly stiff penalty. They would have to pay a very high indemnity for the deaths and destruction they caused. No Human leader would settle for anything less. The people who lost loved ones and had damages would demand no less and would not settle for peace without the invaders paying a stiff price for it. They might allow the treaty to be signed but many people would look to go out into the galaxy and sabotage the "Galactic Council's" holdings and stir up massive descent causing rebellion on many planets.

  2. BS , the aliens attacked Earth for no reason than we were new to the galaxy upstarts as they said , there would be no way in hell we would give up or give in . We would be fuming for the destruction and loss of life these alien bastards did , and how in the hell did General Anderson stay in contact with Earth and escape ?

  3. This is the most stupid resolution to a story. The Aliens came to either enslave or extinct humanity and they failed, so they pursue for reconciliations and demanded from us to share what saved humanity from being enslaved andor extinguished? Where are the retaliations? Where are the reparations? How to punish them for their crimes and attempt of xenocide?

  4. There are historical examples of sieges that lasted long enough to drive people to cannibalism or mass suicide – not surrender.

    Massada was the mass suicide.

The other was a Russian city…
I don't remember the name just now.

There may be other examples. Human history is long and filled with war.
