The inspiration behind this video:

The inclusion of a returning Monsterverse Titan may be a clue to what brings Godzilla and Kong together in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Despite sharing a bitter rivalry that dates all the way back to their ancestors, Godzilla and Kong are on a track for a team-up of epic proportions when they make their highly anticipated returns to their big screen. Sometime after their showdown in Hong Kong and subsequent battle with Mechagodzilla in Godzilla vs. Kong’s ending, the two alpha Titans will find themselves thrust into a new conflict.

What role Godzilla will play in the fight ahead in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’s story remains to be seen, but the marketing does tease Kong’s struggle. The second Godzilla x Kong trailer shows off Kong in pitched battle with the Monsterverse’s Skar King, a new Titan confirmed to be at least one of the film’s villains. From the looks of things, the Skar King and his army have sent out a “call for war” that will put him at odds with Kong. Somehow, of course, he’ll have to get Godzilla on his side. That may prove challenging, though, considering that it’s already been confirmed Godzilla will attack Kong in Egypt.

  1. I foresee a lot of people at the theater in March. Please be kind and turn your phone off while you watch the feature. This is a public service announcement provided by a country that is very much looking forward to some mindless entertainment before WWIII or CW, whichever comes first. Thank you.

  2. My problem with this stuff, is why not just make the movie a full blown animated film. This is not live action at all. Every scene with the kaiju (as well as a lot of everything else) is entirely CGI. I don't need actors in costumes, CGI is fine fore the kaiju but the scenery needs some practical effects and some real settings.
