Godzilla vs Kong 2 – One more Wild Card to add to the mix

Godzilla vs Kong 2 – One more Wild Card to add to the mix

This video, i discuss a theory that was brought up to me by a channel subscriber and i felt that some light should be shed on this theory, even though it maybe considered a slim one depending on what we learn going forward.

  1. Honestly I think it’s very likely it’s either gonna be this monster, a brand new monster, or Destroyah. Destroyah would appear if this is indeed the final movie in the Monsterverse which I’m hoping it’s not.

  2. I mean Kong could be that big because without the big one, Kong was free to thrive without much competition. Same with Godzilla, after the death of MUTO Prime and thus the MUTO species dying out, Godzilla was finally left free to thrive and feed on the radiation.

  3. I'm honestly hoping for something entirely original to the Monsterverse created by Legendary. They've used Toho's history to eek out success in two out of three films involving Godzilla. And I think it's high time they go back to basics and earn their own success with something THEY make, instead of relying purely on Toho's history and nostalgia. Much as I love Toho's historic lineup, they're where they belong. In the past. Time to look ahead.

  4. I'll be honest, I didn't think of anything about that monster that Kong pulled the axe out of, at first. Just thought of it something a little extra. For the most part thought it was just a member of Godzilla's species.

  5. Not for nothing, BUT this does make the most sense. I know art book stuff doesn’t usually make it into the movies, but with all the unused footage and ideas the director has I can see him wanting to build on what is already created.

  6. I think if they do encounter the mega species again it will be an evolved/mutated version. The original was killed by Kongs so Godzilla and Kong should be able to beat it. That’s why I think I’ll be a evolved version if they decide to go that route.

  7. The success of GVK showed Legendary that they can stray quite far from the Toho property and have more success than they do with it. KOTM was the most TOHO Godzilla film in the monsterverse, and it didn't do well. Of course GvK has Mecha Godzilla, but it was Kong and Godzilla who brought people to theatres. Mecha G wasn't even in the trailer, or at least not in a recognisable way for the general audience. They will rely on Kong and their "American" Godzilla to bring in the money, just like with GvK. No new Toho monsters needed.
