Heck yeah, I was just rewatching the Old Gods video the other day.wondering about the next installment. Super excited to start watching
TIL Warhammer Fantasy RPG is still being published.
Funny, literally yesterday I was wondering why the Skaven Wars books mentioned humans invoking Khaine. This video had fantastic timing
Slight correction. The Picture you used at the beginning for verena is a Statue of Solkan not her.
Interestingly, there's evidence that the story of Ranald's ascension is another one of his tricks. It's from an older TTRPG book, Second Edition's Tome of Salvation, but it's interesting and personally I like how it muddies the waters in a way fitting for a trickster god. It goes like this:
And I said: Can you tell me the tale of Ranald, and how he achieved godhood?
And the child replied: Yes. The Greatest Trick. A well-known tale. Ranaldans claim that, when mortal, Ranald was a bandit; a gentle soul who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. This so enchanted Shallya that she fell in love, ensnared by the romance of Ranald's deeds.
One night, when distributing supplies to victims of the Fly Lord, Ranald fell dreadfully ill, and was approached by Morr. Shallya could not bear the loss of her love, so she stole Ranald from her father's grasp in the only way she knew how: she let him drink from her holy Chalice, and granted him immortality.
Ranald, now a god, laughed at Shallya's naivety. He admitted to the crying goddess that he had never been sick at all, and that he had manipulated her from the beginning.
And I said: So, the tale is true?
And the child replied: No. It is false. The greatest trick Ranald ever pulled was convincing Humanity that he had ever been one of them.
โThe Testament of Pergunda, "On Righting Wrongs
Me hearing Estalia: Flashback to Vietnam
12:04 pretty common real life tenant in the recovery community
Me hearing about Renald: is he Cayden Cailean?
Because he kinda sounds like him
No drunken fortitude to godhood (Cayden drunkenly stumbled upon an artifatct in a dungeon that gave him godhood, dodging deathly traps and encounters, no kidding) but still….
is there a video on halfings? if not there should be they would be a great fit for this channel!
Not even joking when i say i didnt know there were other human gods other than Sigmar, which imo is indicative of how shit of a job GW does and why The Empire needs to not be the fantasy equivalent of Ultramarines (narratively, obviously)
Finally now my whfrpg character can pray to canonical gods at inopportune moments ๐
Missed the part about the Shallyans' law against initiating violence has a big 'ol asterisk on it.
They can stab as many Nurglites as they like.
Women aren't weak. Its just that the god of ALL women is about as powerful as the god of "that lake over there".
20:06 omg, so some places like Monte Carlo and Las Vegas would basically be the Vatican for him ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
I always liked the idea that Khorne and Khaine share something. Perhaps it was Khorne trying to influence the elves but something got lost in translation. Perhaps they were the same thing once in the primordial long, long ago but split at some point with Khaine being molded by the Elves/Elven gods.
Every damn time I see one of Pancreas's WHF videos I remember that I bought the Warhammer Fantasy RPG Humble Bundle and that I should read the books… Now more than ever since he mentioned it like 4 times
Now im imagining a twin duo in a wh rpg game where one is a healer of shallya and the other is a worrior of myrmidia and they travel around battlefields helping anyone who will take it and they work with the loosing army as commanders as long as their morals are true. And over the years they become a legend that ties the two gods together as a Artemis and apolo type twin saints idea.
Lore of the Nehekharan gods. Almost no one talks about them
Bro, summoning your own Elector Count fucking killed me๐๐๐
Wellโฆ you did successfully tricked me into watching a warhammer fantasy video, well done.
40k fan-damn you….sigh. since im here, the emporer wills it.
How dare you trick me, a fantasy fan, into watching a 40k video
Yo Panc, I want to get into making YouTube videos. Iโve recorded some audio, but after hours of trying to get it sounding somewhat good; it still sounds like it was recorded on a wire from the 1900โs. Is there a certain software you use to get your audio sounding CRISP af?
As much as I like AoS getting rid of the old human gods was a blunder on GWs part. Imagine the Stormcast but instead of all being lightning themed some storm hosts are sworn to a human god and have differing aesthetics based on that god. Like a storm host that is sworn to Ursun and has Ice-themed units.
Kaine hasn't been mantled by Korne? I thought that is why he's such an asshole.
I would love for you to cover the gods in Elder Scrolls, or really anything in Elder Scrolls. I loved your videos on that bonkers universe
laughs in Chaos Gods winning
Will you do a video on the winds of magic?
1:05 well the title is pretty clear and the thumbnail definitely looks more like Fantasy/AoS stuff plus the timestamps really give it away. In either case Iโm not watching past this point peace out
10:53 Ah, Cabbage man. Almost as big a cosmic chew toy as Waspinator.
I just realized sigmas is basically Jesus if he was from a Germanic epic.
