Wild Hearts has done the seemingly impossible: go head to head with Monster Hunter and earn a seat at the table through its inventive additions to the monster hunting formula, but all of this greatness is undermined by horrendous PC performance and some very dated visuals. Wild Hearts may one day fix all of these issues, but right now I just can’t recommend picking this up.

  1. I played the 10 hour demo on Series X, while I waited for the PS5 version to be delivered. It's like night and day. The PS5 version is smoother, far better looking, and better in just about every way. The lighting in the Xbox version is a disaster. Blotchy, inky looking weirdness. The game was clearly designed for PS5.

  2. Alright, if you love monster hunter and want a different flavor this is it. For everyone else… one of the monsters slows down my game. It doesn’t look like a slideshow mind you I mean the game literally slows down.😅 ps5 so yea wait on this for a smidge but after a couple months of patches absolutely PLAY. For any monster hunter casual this is a must play after a bit of time😂

  3. Long time monster hunter player here(mhfu), in a nutshell the game feels like a cross between musou like and monster hunter in combat. 20 hours in and I'm having way more fun than base Rise, the maps and the karakuri really compensates for the slightly simplified weapon combos.

edit: bow is really broken, stand close to the monster, do the 2 charge weak arrows to pepper the enemy with as many arrows as you want, do a jump off a box attack and it should trigger the embedded arrows.

  4. 2 bad u didnt play on console? Or does that version not exist yet idk. Console versions 99% of the time better than pc ironically enough when they have launch issues cuz "PC master race" lmao.

  5. To say that I HATE the Monster Hunter combat would be an understatement. For non try harders, no Monster Hunter game is playable other than the turn based ones which are actually really cool, far superior to the real time ones. Wild Hearts having the fluid combat is Monster Hunter but finally fixed. For this it is worth 80 dollars not 70.

  6. You should really spend some time playing older monster hunter titles, just to see what the series was like. You're getting your entire perspective from one game – world, and it feels a bit jarring.

  7. I think the takeaway im getting from all of his reviews lately is basically that developers really aren’t focused in or bothered about PC when making their games. All these performance complaints wtc. Seem to always be centred on PC.

Not surprising honestly; no longer the master-race it seems when games are running far better on Series X and PS5 😂😂😂😂

  8. Wild hearts is amazing, gameplay combat is awesome and there's a ton of depth in things to do. The combat is better than mh. And the building is smooth and awesome. My biggest complaint is the game doesn't run well on ps5 I had sound drops and frame rate drops during g combat. If it gets optimized it gonna be amazing gaming experience. The devs said a patch is coming this week soo well see. If they fix it. It's gonna be a big success. It just all around a fun game and looks amazing. You can actually grab on to everything and climb up on anything, including monsters. During combat you can grab on to the monsters and hang on for dear life. It's awesome. If it's gets patched a must buy

  9. Even Toukiden runs like ass now. I remember when I bought the game many years ago and I had lower tier PC parts, the game ran fine. But then when I bought an i7 and 1070 when it was fairly new, the game now drops to like 15-20 fps frequently when I tried the game again recently.

  10. The game is good, but yes it really needs some performance optimization. It runs 'marginally' at best..

If there's anything i really hate bout this game is how some of the Kemono can take up all the space of your screen [*cough King Tusk cough*] and how background and terrain can block your view when you get smacked about 100 ft away from some bell-flop move. Also the 'Hunters Arm' skill is so annoying to use, because its difficult to crawl on a seizure mode Kemono with the camera shaking

  11. I’m not a MH fan, just couldn’t really get into it, but man this sounds amazing. I especially really love the whole thing about building your own camps on site and putting up permanent structures (I do love Death Stranding). If performance issues get fixed, fans will have a great game for them.

Also, Ralph made a character that looks like Momiji from Dead or Alive and I have total respect for that.

  12. 5:52: Why am I not fucking surprised? EVERY game coming out these days has SOME sort of CPU bottleneck. Seems devs these days have no fucking clue how to optimize for CPUs. It's why I'm almost tempted to tell people you'd be better off upgrading your CPU over your GPU at this point considering how many games want to hammer the CPU more and more these days due to poor optimization or what have you.

  13. You don't recommend wild hearts mainly for performance issues meanwhile you strongly recommended elden ring which launched with even worse performance issues
