GO FAST RISK EVERY THANG: The Wild Story of Ken Block’s ’22 Rally Racing Title Chase

GO FAST RISK EVERY THANG. This is the mantra that we often have to use when racing rally. Sometimes it leads to champagne ceremonies, sometimes to crashed cars. In the 2022 American Rally Association season, it often led to both. While there were many wins and successes throughout the season, there was also mistakes and setbacks. So, we had to go fast and risk everything to chase that title right to the end – and this is the behind-the-scenes story of how that all went.

  1. I really hope someone Ken respects tells him the ibuprofen excuse makes him look terrible. Nothing wrong with messing up. But don't blame your mistake on anything other than yourself. If ibuprofen affects him that severely he shouldn't be driving… And I think he is the best technical driver ever.

  3. Great documentary – very well put together. Perhaps the most amazing thing about this is how good a rally driver Brandon Semenuk has turned out to be. He's already an incredible mountain biker. Apparently the primary skill in both these sports is being just a bit more psycho than everyone else (I guess the same thing can be said or Mr Pastrama – they are all just a bit nuts). 🙂

  4. I have huge respect for what Ken Block has achieved both with DC Shoes and then with rally with the money he made from DC.

During this video though about the bad crash that wiped out the car he states he heard his co-drivers instruction it was a dangerous corner and that the Co driver repeated it to be sure knew but then he goes on in the video to state it was "likely due to ibuprofen" that is a cop out I'm sorry. Ibuprofen has a lot of qualities about it but unlike Huberman, I haven't heard of dulling hearing, especially when you mention that you previously heard the instruction.

I'm a runner and long distance hiker and take ibuprofen only when necessary. If yoh take it then your pain is numbed and decisions can be made in response to thinking you are pain free.

In this I think Ken just needs to own making a mistake rather than blaming it on Ibuprofen.

I remember a long ago interview where he talks about racing Colin McRae in Cross Games and McRae rolled but as he did he changed gear ready for landing, he said that impacted him but I think McRae's entire style of all or nothing impacted himm
