Canadians from coast to coast are fighting the elements as winter storms wreak havoc on holiday plans across the country. Global’s Kyle Benning has the latest.

In the U.S., high winds, snow and arctic temperatures are also causing one of the most treacherous Christmas travel weekends the U.S. has seen in decades. Jennifer Johnson reports.

How long is this extreme weather going to last and could there be more disruptions ahead? Meteorologist Anthony Farnell takes a look at what to expect over the holidays.

For most Canadians since the pandemic began, this is the first restrictions-free Christmas they’ve had. But Canada’s top doctor is warning COVID-19 could still unleash new problems. And now, there is growing anxiety over an explosion of cases in China. Touria Izri reports.

A gunman opened fire at a Kurdish cafe and community centre in Paris, France, on Friday, killing three people. Police are trying to determine if it was a targeted attack. Crystal Goomansingh reports.

A new Ipsos poll conducted for Global News found nearly a third of Canadians say they are less trusting of information from social media than they were prior to the pandemic. The poll also shows some significant generational divides around trust and regulation of online spaces. Mike Armstrong explains.

  4. Meanwhile, at the same time in Vancouver. It is now pouring rain and the temperature drop from -6 degree to 5 degree, which is now a bit warmer and melting the frozen snow and ice. And there no traffic.. So why is GLOBAL NATIONAL not showing this GOOD NEWS about the lower mainland???

  8. i wish i had a family that was together and lasted over the years, when grandpappa died that was it and everyone went their separate ways. I haven't had a reason to even buy a tree for several years. Is there really 8 billion people on the planet? why are so many alone, why didn't your family colapse too? why mine, why do i have to be alone.

  13. Canadians that have anything to complain about regarding the Government of Canada's Santa commercial should take a look at their livingroom and what's under the tree. Expensive gifts for their family members bought usually on credit cards. Now are they going to attend Christmas Eve services at their local church? Probably not, nowadays, Christmas doesn't mean the birth of our Saviour and King, Jesus Christ. It is too commercialized…we have forgotten who the season of Christ…mas is for. Nevermind that the Easter bunny will be bringing chocolates and candies to the children of the world on Easter Sunday 2023. Not about the fact that Jesus Christ, died on the Cross, to save the people of Earth from their sins forever, and grant them through God's grace, eternal life in Heaven. It's now just another commercialized holiday ruined by the Atheists.

  40. 👆Now I was recently at the Tokyo smoke in the Eton's centre and the one girl "Refuse to serve " me . She claimed that she used too work at "One Plant" and I had a sort of hissy fit , a total lie . that I was throwing things and gave the staff a hard time, More lies ! if some one refuse to serve me , I merly walk away . Now I have been to several Tokyo smoke locations with no problem , actually I enjoy going to there locations as their services is prompt and punctual . Except this one , I have Experienced some rude behaviour in the past and a lazy staff drinking Marajuana drinks on the job . Now Toronto claims that it "With Me , It always sunny in losagles" well "Show Me That you'er with me " and jack up the rent for Tokyo smoke in the Etons centre and kick them out .
