We never know what to expect. We always hope for easy cut and release scenarios, but sometimes we have to deal with very painful and technical situations. First of all, gill nets are illegal in Namibian waters, and secondly, they’re irresponsibly being discarded into the ocean. It was a huge relief to finally rescue this seal, but the entanglement shouldn’t have happened in the first place! 🦭

  4. Please don't eat fish + be a part of the problem. Hate the fishing industry for all the pain + death they cause. This was awful to watch. The poor little girl was in so much pain. Thank you team OCN for working so well together + giving this beautiful pup another chance to live a good life.

  26. Being a nurse, I see that cuts to the scalp or face put out loads of blood. Sometimes there is much more blood than pain. What looks like a gory blood scene can just be a small scalp cut. Pouring the water to help identify the line in a pool of blood seems like a good idea except its not sterile. Wonder if you could use this approach in other situations when its hard to identify the line in a juicy wound? Maybe using sterile water in a plastic bottle and carrying it on the rig for unique situations. You can buy small 5-10cc plastic squeeze ampules or 50-250 plastic bottles.

  27. Why do you need to get a pat on the back? That's the only reason the camera is there. Just save the animal and continue. The video seems to only serve as evidence of you being a good person…

    Integrity is doing the right thing literally without a fucking camera. You do it cuz you love animals, not because you wanna get footage of it.
