  1. They all sound like what they are, which is a good thing.
I would take the Martin blindfolded. It sounds beautiful to me! I do own two Adirondack over mahogany Martin guitars

  2. All sound lovely but the Taylor is a very different model so is bound to sound different. However, the issue with Gibson is quality. As a grand they are terrible at controlling quality (I'm a luthier myself) and so you often have to play a bunch to find a decent one. Taylor and Martin are a lot more consistent to the extent I'd even buy one offline from either of those companies

  3. 3 great guitars indeed! Shame to know that beautiful Gibson will spend most of its life in a case. Anyhow….
Taylor best for picking, Martin for flat -picking, Gibson strumming.

  4. I've played guitar almost my whole life and trust me, it all depends on the piece of wood that individual guitar was made with….two guitars, just alike, of any brand will sound worlds apart….I had a dean performer that was my all time favorite and then Ive played some of each that really were awesome…so that the task you have when ya buy a new guitar….just gotta play em…bummer, huh?,

  5. I like all the idiot know it alls that come here and make their idiotic comments…. They can’t even afford these guitars but act as if they know everything about tone, etc… I am sure if they were offered one for free (say the Taylor) they would say no thanks because I heard the Martin and if I can’t have that I don’t want any guitar at all…. Get real idiot wannabes… and dream as you don’t have the money anyway to buy one… by the way, I do and own one of each of these name brand guitars… and I could care less about the tone, etc… I just play them..period…

  6. It seems that the Martin and Gibson are significantly more expensive guitars. Also, you compared two dreadnaughts to a smaller body style. For the money, I would expect that the Gibson and Martin would sound better.

  7. Thanks, that was a great video.
But, it looked like the mic was around the 12th fret for the Gibson and Martin, but closer to the 8th fret on the Taylor. It seemed like you had turned your body slightly. So we were getting the full sound from only the other two. Still all three are amazing instruments, but unfortunately out of my league $$.
