Year 1 -18.5 mil (tag would have been 32) – Giants saved 13.5 mil this upcoming year
Year 2- 45 mil
It’s only 81 mil guaranteed. Let’s do the math 81-45-19 = 17 mil left. If the giants wanna move on after 2 years and not pay him the rest of the 160 they take a dead cap hit of 17 mil over the next two years. This a very team friendly contract. And makes Jones prove himself with another really good year or two.

So Daniel Jones is as good as any other quarterback and his intangibles are much better. Think not? Look at the Cardinals and Kyler Murray or Cleveland and their guy…or Tannehil…or…Tua..or Carr…or Dak…or Fields…or Lawrence. There’s only one Mahommes. If the Market for these other guys is $35-$40, give Mahommes $70!! If the Giants had franchised tagged him, he would have been making business decisions each play and Giants would still have the no plan plan. Now DJ’s gonna play harder than ever. Jones could have got more from another team, he's the one that settled. The kid put a scrub offense on his back and won a playoff game. A lot of teams were watching and waiting to see what the Giants would do because at least 15 teams would have gave Jones 45 million and gave up two first round draft pics for him. If the Jets don't sign Rodgers they should announce that Zach Wilson will be the starter for the entirety of the 2023 season. Then quierly inform the top players on the team that they can sit out as much of the season as they like with "injuries," and use the opportunity to evaluate some practice squad talent. After a full season with Wilson at qb and the best players on the bench, the Jets will be in a great position to draft a qb with the #1 or #2 pick in 2024.

Cowturd will never get it about NYG, or Jones. As Neal progresses in year two, they will have young, inexpensive bookend OT's. Interior O-line depth is good. Needs are at WR, TE, LB, DB and DLine depth. Most needs are possible to obtain, as Jeremiah mentioned now that Jones is signed and Barkley tagged. Hopefully, some foolish NFL team will offer Barkley and give NYG two #1 picks, although I doubt it. Cowturd needs to keep busy with his man crush on Jimmy G
