  1. Thank god! So many of my friends have me shit for saying Ghostbusters ‘22 was bad. I agree with all your points, the story had a few interesting points, but overall felt lame and boring, it lacked any real comedy, and was overly predictable. A real shame this is supposedly the new group of ghostbusters. I did enjoy the way they handled Spengler though, even if the cgi on him was a little iffy

  2. I thought that the third would have Ivo Shandor as the main antagonist as his existence was hinted at in the first movie when the Ghostbusters were arrested as well the Videogame was closest thing to a third movie until Afterlife came and we got J.K.Simmons as Ivo Shandor.
Do Ridley Scott’s I am Legend

  3. I thought that "Afterlife" was OK… And it seems to be the legitimate "sequel" to GB2 since the (living) OG Ghostbusters were in it…
Harold Ramis was very selfish to die, when such a great franchise was depending on him to stay alive!
No, JK. That guy was so fantastic! RIP…

  4. Women being on a new team was done in the IDW Ghostbusters run but it worked b/c it was characters we’d know like Janine from the films leading the team & Kylie from the cartoon. Plus 2 other established characters from the run. 3:1 female team & it was way better than the 2016 team. Women being Ghostbusters isn’t a problem, it’s writing them & the rest of story+dialogue badly as well pushing a toxic agenda that’s the problem

  5. GB 2 got way too much hate. It was good in parts just a bit stupid in others. Compared to the other sequels its far superior. Bill Murray was really the only reason we never got a proper GB 3.

  6. Can’t blame Murray for turning down the Manhattan/Hell script. Sounds horrible. No wonder he hemmed and hawed about doing a GB3 for years afterwards. However, the 2009 video game plot was pretty well done.

  7. They should have retconned Ghostbusters 2016 as an in-universe movie that Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston took cameos in for the money, but regretted doing so after attending the premiere.

They also could have used the same premise for the cartoon and Ghostbusters 2; “well we made a ton of money off the merchandising from the movie and cartoon the first time, and we just assumed the 2016 film would print money too…”

  8. "Foresight" "Trump" way to object political bias into the video, in a time where the left and it's leaders are literally tearing the nation apart, spending it's into Oblivion, censoring anyone they don't agree with, and looking to remove just about every liberty they can.

  9. I quite enjoyed Afterlife, but in my ideal world, Ghostbusters 3 would have been made in 1991 or 1992 or something, and Ghostbusters 4 would have been a reunion movie made around 2011/2012 with the original cast coming back for one last adventure (along the lines of Star Trek VI:The Undiscovered Country).
2016 and 2022 would have been next generation movies with a handover to a new crew carrying on the legacy.

  10. I have a soft spot for Ghostbusters 2. It does have much too similar structure to the first one but I like that it brings in the river of slime, Vigo, elevated Louis' role, the Statue of Liberty scene, and just the overall message that kindness will triumph in the end.

  11. Man, I am a big Murray fan, but they should have killed him off and replace him with an actor who has a similar comedy vibe like Kevin Kline, Jeff Goldblum, Eric Idle or Steve Guttenberg and make Rick Moranis a full Ghostbuster. The chemistry between the remaining Ghostbusters was just too good and much better than the women of 2016 or the kids of the last one.
