  1. So the National guard train their pilots in Arizona and the regular army train their pilots here in Fort Rucker Alabama. Here at Rucker pilots start on Lakotas then move on to Blackhawks chinooks or Apaches.

  2. its nice to see that you brought a handful of goofballs to distract you , no wonder you find it harder then expected , this partially goes to my comment that i gave to your previous content . do not get distracted by goofball antics , this is not your grandmas backyard anymore dave , there is a reason DOD helicopter pilots spend so much time in training , this is not a 2 weeks and done deal . good luck

  3. Its an addiction worse than drugs and alcohol, more expensive and will kill you faster. I see what these Blackhawks sell for. How do you afford it? Robinson is not a good helicopter to recommend.

  4. 7:22 – "That means I can go out and fly Helicopters and airplanes.." ~ Actually, you can ONLY fly what your certified in. If you only have your Rotorcraft rating, you can ONLY Fly Rotorcraft PIC.

That being said, you can get Endorsed for up to 90 days to fly an aircraft your not Certified in (ASEL) to build time for an additional Rating.

  5. Fun video, lots of very positive info. I wish you would have covered the costs of opperating an S-70, so folks would have an idea of what it takes…the $2K-$3K per hour just for DOC’s. Not to mention the fact that you will have a very difficult time getting insurance to cover you if you ever want to act as PIC, with an “SIC only” typed co-pilot. In fact, you failed to mention that helicopter REQUIRES a trained and typed crew of two. Although the SIC type does not require an FAA flight check or oral exam. To be honest, for your first several hundred hours at the controls, I hope the guy in the other seat is a retired army CWO4 or CWO5 SIP. That toy you bought is a very complex machine, and putting a typed private pilot up front as a PIC is the same as putting a private pilot in a 747 and expecting him to be a safe, competant PIC. I hope you are not that guy. Just because you get a type, please don’t think you are safe. Until a helo driver has a minimum of 1500-2000 hours under his belt (and at least a couple of hundred in type), he is still learning a great deal about what is really going on up in the air. I pray you will have the right guy in the other seat any time you strap on that machine. I’ve known a lot of good guys that are no longer with us because thier perceived abilities in the cockpit fell short of thier actual skills. I have seen a lot in the past 50 years as a professional behind the cyclic and yoke (as a military officer, contractor, and civilian pilot). What scares me the most is when I see someone with money buy an aircraft that is WAY beyond thier competency (there is a reason the V35 you showed is called the doctor killer, and why additionel requirements were added to the MU-2 for a type). From what I have seen of your videos, you may be the exception to the rule. You put safety first…please don’t dissapoint me, be safe and come home every night to your family.
