‘Get serious’: John Pesutto slams Labor govt for ‘ideological opposition’ to gas

Victorian Opposition leader John Pesutto has slammed the state’s Labor government for their “ideological opposition” to gas, which will see more households exposed to outages and has called on them to “get serious” about energy.

Three bushfires continue to burn in Victoria’s west and central regions on Wednesday.

Almost 500,000 were without electricity on Tuesday night, and over 250,000 remained without power on Wednesday morning.

“It means, one, that the energy infrastructure towers and the like are more resilient to storm weather, and, secondly, it means that we’ve got options,” Mr Pesutto told Sky News Australia.

“Let’s all remember that yesterday, gas was supplying about 25 to 30 per cent of the state’s energy years.

“The government has this ideological opposition to gas, which is going to see more and more Victorian households and businesses exposed to this kind of outage experience, and it’s not fair on them, and the government needs to get serious about it.”

  2. Australian Gas Policy.
Cooking Sunday roast in Natural Gas stove = Bad Climate Change Policy.
Industrial scale Hydrogen production using same Natural Gas = Good Climate Change policy.

  3. About time the Liberals woke up and come out with policies that are NOT Labor light policies. Yes Gas should be part of the mix as should Coal. They need to stand up to this green BS

  5. I like this LNP move more, the Asian community uses gas more than induction cooking. It’s a total disconnect with the fastest and biggest demographic in Victoria from labor on the small business industry.

Guys we are officially in the END TIMES now, Jesus said these things would come to pass Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 21 and Revelation 6. I stand with the Lord Jesus Christ the Lord of all, the one who took our punishment for sin upon himself and gave his life for us on the cross at Calvary because he was the only one who could and you can also if like me you are fed up with and totally against this evil that is going on in our world turn to God call on Jesus Christ to save you right now, why wait any longer. We are being pushed into a *new*world*order and the enemy is parading their evil like never before in our faces, the only way out of it all is by salvation through Jesus Christ and to await his soon second coming to redeem us and destroy all evil. Repent of all sin and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour today.
To receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and be saved from sin–
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Please ask him into your heart for if you have read this far into this post be assured that he is knocking at the door of your heart.
