Nice, I've always felt that open exploration should meld nicely with monster games, as well as a touch of crafting systems. As much as it may "pad the game", it also does a fair bit of fifth-wall breaking for a genre that deserves flexibility..it means newer players to this category can have more fun than the way it was at it's basic beginnings.
