A new bilateral defense agreement between Germany and the UK inked today, One of the central aspects of the agreement is cooperation in military drone development, an area in which both nations see significant potential.
"The Most Advanced In The World" ……is it fully autonomous? Running on AI? And can it take off from an aircraft carrier, rendezvous with a mid-air tanker, refuel, meet with another aircraft, refuel that F-18 and then land back on the Carrier ALL BY ITSELF? We've had one that does that since 2017! How is the UK the "World Leader" in Focused Enery Weapons when America has two separate systems on Navy vessels, that have intercepted targets live in the Red Sea, the HELIOS System, a new LOCUST System on a HumVee with a 35kw laser, 30mm gun and Stinger missile system all hooked up to a radar unit that has that has successfully taken out an airborne target and a land target with the laser and 30mm SIMULTANEOUSLY.? We also had a Chemically Powered Laser Sytem on the entire nose of a 747 Airliner that was for destroying ICBM's….back in 1997! But your little 35watt laser is the world leader?
It's funny how the Tempest program was stalled, then Japan said they wanted to build a 6th Gen Aircraft, Lockheed Martin said they'd help and Britain jumped up and said…."hey, can we get in with you on that?". Which is also probably why it looks like our aircraft in so many areas and both countries did buy the F-35…which also tells you, if we were willing to sell that to 20 countries…..we are technologically decades ahead of it with the NGAD & FA-XX Programs. Tempest should be a really good plane, I'm sure. Why no advanced bombers from anyone I wonder? Just going for the "cool" points in the "sexy fighter" category I guess, rather than a well rounded Air Force with lots of capabilities. Japan is going to have to make all of the replacement parts I'm sure, because production volume has never been a British strong suit.
By the way, we have 6, SIX, F-16's flying on A.I., right now and the V.I.S.T.A. F-16 flying on A.I. that is autonomously "dogfiting" against human pilots and winning…..that's been going for 2 years now. The Secretary of the Air Force, who can't fly a plane in a video game, has flown in the cockpit of the V.I.S.T.A. under A.I. in a dogfight….that's how far the system has advanced. Anyone else's Drones or C.C.A.'s that far advanced?? Oh well, good luck, stiff upper lip and all that. Cheers.
Tempest is being made in Britain and that is not going to change.
Gun production needs to be restarted in Britain alongside rebuilding the British military vehicle industry.
How many F35s are zee Germans buying?
