DRAMATIC bodycam video showed a Georgia sheriff’s deputy rescue a woman from a burning car in Candler County on Saturday, July 1.
Police said Sergeant Ashleigh Taylor responded to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 46 and discovered the vehicle was on fire. “Taylor breached the window and removed the driver from the vehicle, potentially saving a life,” the sheriff’s office said.
The video shows the officer yelling at the driver to remove her seat belt and smashing the car window with a baton as fire and smoke engulf the vehicle.
“Give me your hand,” Taylor is heard shouting. “Come on, get out of the car,” he says as he pulls the woman free.
“Due to Sergeant Taylor’s swift actions, the driver was removed from a dangerous situation before it escalated,” police said.
