Georgia protected Ginny from seeing all of this. Everything Georgia did was for the wellbeing of her daughter, even if it was bad.
Ginnys so rude to Georgia too. Like I understand maybe she didnt always handle everything perfectly everything she did was for ginny. and ginnys still complaining, like your mom literally KILLED FOR YOU, STOLE FOR YOU, RAN AWAY FOR YOU, SHE KEPT YOU FROM SEEING AT THE SHIT SHE HAD TO DEAL WITH AND YET GINNY TREATS HER LIKE SHIT LIKE SHES COME VILLAN.
I've seen clips, but I see so much of my own mom in Georgia in her willingness to protect her daughter that I can't bring myself to watch the actual show. She loves her so much and wants to protect her from the truth, but that's just not the right way to handle it with a kid as bright and cognizant as Ginny is. When you raise a kid to think she's safe when she isn't and cover up all the pain you're going through, your kid goes through life thinking their parent can't really be hurt. Now that Ginny is growing, she's finally starting to realize that her mother isn't perfect because she always pretended to be perfect for her, but it's a lot harder for her to do that at a point in her development where she's supposed to be focused on herself and establishing an identity apart from her mom's.
Poor Georgia that is heartbreaking

It just dawned on me (25, 26 in 2 months) that not only am I closer to Georgia’s age (30/31) than Ginny’s (15/16), I’m also closer to her current age then there’s flash back scenes when she has an entire 4 year old (19)

Gil actually scared me. The actor did a great job. When he told Georgia she was forever 19, forever 9 stuck in a trailer being abused my stomach dropped and I could understand her fear. He was going to kill her if she didn't run away. The only reason he didn't immediately after he found her is because she has money now.

My mom was abused and her and Georgia have alot of similarities in their lives and my mom always told me she has a lot of demons in her life but me and my sister wouldn’t know half of the darkness she had to face because she wanted to keep us safe and I’m grateful for that but it ended up being damaging to my sister who was older then me and she went through most of it with my mom so when me and my mom see the show it’s like watching her life and it’s really emotional for both of us
But I started crying when Georgia remove the makeup…
I swear i wanted to beat up gil after i saw the bruises on her face.
