The Russians won't be able to handle being in the trenches in the winter. The Ukrainians know that well. They also know their winter better, and will be better prepared for it.
A lot of what America is supplying in armament is old stock.

I feel you should push the narrative. To give weapons and ammunition from western stock piles. Saves the annual costs to decommission the stocks. It makes jobs in the west to replace the stocks with new and better products. It weakens Russia thus saving the west costs in escalation. It allows a democratic country defend its way of life. China had been building it's war machine for decades whilst the west downsized its military. If we show weakness it my embolden them.
