😭😭 this episode hits different😭 we ASIANS can definitely relate to this. it runs in our blood na to respect the elders because they always say "THEY KNOW BETTER THAN US". it's really hard to disobey your parents because there's something we called in filipino "UTANG NA LOOB" it's like "YOU OWE THEM YOUR LIFE" so in return, you have to follow whatever they say because it's "FOR YOUR OWN GOOD"… for example when CHOOSING A DEGREE, you wanted to do MUSIC because thats ur passion, but your parents insist you to become a NURSE, because all they want for you is to become "SUCCESSFUL" in life and earn a lot of money. Yes, We do have a choice, but! asians have this feeling of guilt and you will ask urself "is it worth it?" or "am i being selfish? it's like the feeling of choosing your happiness makes you feel more guilty because you feel like you disappoint them and you hurt your family. it's hard to describe that feeling (only asian know that feeling)
but it always depends on your social class, if you're RICH you can do whatever you want in life (but i heard some rich people feel the pressure too) , but if ur in the MIDDLE & LOWER CLASS, expect the PRESSURE coming from ur FAMILY🥺🥺 that's how asian family works😔
