Bala Ganapati is a golden colored “childlike” god. In his hands are bananas, mangoes, sugarcane and fens, all of which represent the abundance and fertility of the earth. His trunk yields his favorite sweet Modka.
2. Young Ganesha

The eight-armed young Ganapati, “Tarun”, carries a noose and goda, modaka, wood apple, rose apple, its broken pieces, rice shoots and sugarcane stalks. Its bright red color reflects the blossoming of youth.

It is truly a joy to see Bhakti Ganapati, beloved of devotees, shining like the full moon and garlanded with flowers during the harvest season. He has a banana, a mango, a coconut and a sweet paisa kheer.

Vira Ganapati, the “brave warrior,” strikes a commanding pose. His 16 arms are weapons, symbolizing the powers of the mind: a mace, discus, bow, arrow, sword, shield, spear, mace, a warship, trident and more.

Chatu: The orange-red “powerful” Shakti Ganapati, four-armed and seated with a Shakti on his knee, protects the householder. He wears necklace, noose and goda and blesses with abhaya mudra.

Chaturmukhi Dwija Ganapati, “twice born” is like the moon. Holding a noose, a goda, a wet leaf scripture, a stick, a water pot and his chanting beads, he reminds us of the urgency of disciplined effort.

Vighna Ganapati, the “God of Obstacles”, is bright golden in color and adorned with jewels. In his eight arms are noose and goda, piece and modak, conch and disk, bunch of flowers, cane, flower arrow and axe.

The handsome, red-hued Kshipra Ganapati, the “quick-acting” bestower of boons, displays his broken teeth, a noose, goda and a sprig of the Kalpa tree (wish-fulfiller). In his raised trunk he keeps a small jar of precious jewels.

Panchamukhi, white in color, Heramba Ganapati, “protector of the weak”, rides a huge lion. He extends gestures of protection and blessings while holding a noose, chanting beads, axe, hammer, piece, necklace, fruit and modak.
