  1. As you guys stated, I came to the realization recently that we are flooded with Metroidvanias and I think I don't need to worry about them anymore unless the game itself actually has "vania" or "metroid" in the title (at least the 2D variety, I'll take a good 3D version like Jedi Survivor or Control). Is this what it was like in the 90's when the genre was oversaturated and ultimately led to that style of game going away for a while? Everything is a metroidvania or souls-like these days and I already feel like the souls-like design focus is easing off a bit lately.

  2. Matt needs to eliminate the words "care" and "cares" from his vocabulary. If he's using them, you know he's been backed into a corner and is signaling he will bite

  3. Sorry Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a rip off.. $70 so they up the price $10 more and deliver $20 less with bugs, graphics that are just on par with the last game… No open world just a load screen map situation .. Its this trend now of games costing more and delivering less and buggy…Not a fan.

  4. That's surprising you can't show a Twisted Metal trailer without getting a strike, shouldn't that fall under fair use, especially since you're discussing it while it plays?

  5. Im watching late bit i hope you talk about afterimage. it's a suprise hit for me. It can be brutal and its full of secrets with dark souls like character quest chains and 10 endings. Plus the map is huge compared to bloodstained which is great as well.

  6. I’m surprised to hear Sony is noticing a drop in game sales. I guess I’m not the only one holding off on full price games.

With the jump to $70 USD games in Canada are $89.99 or almost $95 after federal sales tax. I used to buy 8-10 new games a year at $60. Now I buy 1-2 at $95 and the rest I buy at between $20 and $40. I know the weak CDN dollar is largely to blame but I just won’t pay $95 all that often. I’d rather use that money in different ways and buy games when they’re cheaper.

I find that if I’m not going to get the game at release I can wait a long time. Sony gets significantly less of my money.
