It’s been such a long time since we had a video on Elden Ring music. Glad to finally do one again! And this time it’s Regal Ancestor Spirit. Certainly one of the most unique tracks I’ve heard so far from Elden Ring, if not from all Souls games.

Hey, I've actually been playing Bloodborne for the very first time live on stream! We just beat Ludwig this saturday, what an experience. You can watch the VODs here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2jH7vGoVYM&list=PLdipSd-orUm3grehgZsJOxn5wzm8ApFxk&index=1&pp=iAQB
This track is strongly supported by boss attacks' SFX too. Sounds much better when accompanied with that one magical butterfly-bubbly-watery sound
I really like how Yuka Kitamura went way outside the box for some of the themes she composed in Elden Ring. This theme, as well as Malenia's and Rennala's, really show that she has a lot more range than just "Fromsoft bombast"
Thank you so much for doing a reaction video of this OST! It is one of my utmost absolute favorite OST's from Elden Ring
You caught on the essence of the theme so well, Regal Ancestor Spirit is actually a boss fight but first you need to do a puzzle to be able to access it. And if you would see the arena and what the Ancestor Spirit is and it's abilities and all, it's 100% correct as to what you just described. It is a rather mystic and peaceful creature and you feel like you're in the middle of nature hearing this and ancestral.
Which he is, if you ever see him, and he is also venerated by the Ancestral Followers. If you go through the area on the map you can actually see a multitude of people singing to the dead head of the "beast". Absolutely amazing and on point, thank you so much!
I love your breakdowns! I don't know if you take suggestions but a game called Sea of Stars just released and it has some great music that I think would be cool to breakdown. Hope you are well 🙂
@DaviVasc I think you should do 14.3 Billion years from Outer Wilds. It is an amazing song and I think it would be great on your channel. Love your content!
This song was immediately so special when I heard it! SO DIFFERENT, SO SOMBRE, SO WILD, and my lord every time it hits hard
I like Elden Ring's music, but never clicked with me. Maybe it's because I focus to much in the actual battle XD.
Also, talking about a year, it has been one since the Disufiroa video. ¿Can you make one from Shantien? Its a lot of people's favourite monster hunter theme, me included.
Was excited to see you react to and breakdown this track! I’d like to see a Pontiff Sulyvahn (Dark Souls 3) reaction, it’s a really great music piece.
I just love your breakdowns and I really hope you someday react to
”Dark sun Gwyndolin“ and after that „Aldrich, devourer of gods“.
Those are pretty much the same thing but one of them happens many years and many horrible events later. The contrast is insane and one of the most disturbing sounding things in the trilogy of Dark Souls.
My personal favorite boss, glad you reacted to it! When you mentioned the tribal elements i was really suprised by how accurate you got it lol
Idk why this gives me huge Princess Mononoke vibes
Glad you and everyone else liked this song Davi! I personally enjoy the underrated tracks of the souls series that are either beautiful or downright evil sounding (Divine Dragon, Deacons of the Deep, Gravetenders Champion) and of course RAS is no exception. We'd be here all day if i'd list my personal favorites but let's just say there are more tracks to come from Soulsborne that others are suggesting.
Hope we can keep sharing all that we love to ya!
Did you do Radhan the Starscourge yet or Godfrey, first elden lord?
Have you thought of reacting to sekiro music? It a different spin in souls music
Hey Davi, i know you dont usually take the requests of one person, But i thought it would be really cool to see you react to a song from one of my favorite games gravity rush. Its also has one of my favorite soundtracks and i really want to see you react to Night gale, or Angel. I love the vid btw keep it up❤❤❤
Yeah Man , I Love your soulsborne Analysis Videos
You Just Nail it every time
I am Looking Forward to more😁
i have no idea how this hasent happened yet, but you need to check out literally any theme from the terraria calamity mod!
their all great, some even including lyrics. some very popular ones for people to check out are 1: stained, brutal calamity. 2: roar of the jungle dragon, and 3: devourer of gods nonstop mix. for stained brutal calamity, you can find the lyrics in the description (their a bit hard to make out in the song unless your reading along, but tell a story sorta).
honestly i recommend checking out the whole soundtrack since 1: their just all great, and 2: alot of them are a great example of finding loop points in songs like you talked about in prior videos
When playing the game, this was the first song the REALLY stuck out to me. Elden Ring's ost isn't my favorite but this song definitely has stuck with me.
If you're looking for another Elden Ring boss theme to react to, I'd vote for Godfrey or Malenia
I'm frustrated not to be able to keep supporting you on Patreon, so I put my frustration supporting you here. Sorry, not sorry !
I really like that this boss theme is so different from the rest of Elden Ring. The Regal Ancestral Spirit is essentially a deity/object of worship from a time before the Erdtree – before the conquest of the Lands Between by the Golden Order, and the culture it's part of has been forced to live underground just barely maintaining their existence; all of which seems to fit with the soft, somber, tribal/primitive vibes you were getting.
One of the three Souls bosses I feel bad about killing. Spirit, Quelaag, Sif.
You just have to check out the Sekiro Corrupted Monk track. My favorite of all of soundtracks of Fromsoft.
It's a bit out of the zone of what you'd usually do, but I highly you take a look at the Furi soundtrack. "Make this right" and "My Only Chance" specifically are songs I'd highly recommend, I'd love to see how you'd tackle them.
Just a dew more thoughts i had while watching the video:
– The second ohase score reminds me a lot of mysic in Team ICO games
– The strings in the first phase are extremely similar to the background score for Leyndell. For me they evoke a very strong feeling of sorrow and mourning, but in sort of a resteained and defeated way.
– I might be way off base but a lot of the instruments have an eastern/east-asian sound tonthem, which stands in pretty heavy contrast to the western orchestral sound that Fromsoft usually goes for. As you mentioned this helps five a sense of a fantasy culture, but I think in the game it also serves to separate it from the modern culture of the Erdtree era, and cements it as an urterly different and more ancient culture
СЛАВЯНЕ, ОБЩИЙ СБОР!
This theme sounds to me like nature itself. The Tarnished (humans) disturbing an ancient creature existing way long before us, peacefully (nature), trying to kill it. Thus the sad music in the 1st 'phase'.
When 2nd 'phase' enters, it reminds me that, again, nature will always find a way of continuing to exist no matter what cause it sounds to me more promising rather than sad which the 1st phase was. (it doesnt matter that we kill the spirit in game :P). The enemies guarding the arena and the animals accompanied by them and the whole environment of this area makes me think of that when it comes to an explanation of the track and the boss. Now back to the actual fight, beautiful colors, kinda 'ghosty' and a very nice design of the actual boss. One of my favorite tracks, truly magnificent and haunting in a beautiful way. <3
Have you done an analysis to blasphemous music? My personal favorite track is "Cante de los muertos", "manto de escamas blancas" and "cinco miradas tiene la aurora"
Ancestral spirits in Elden Ring are actually a manifestation of life itself as pure force of energy, concentrating the very definitions of life, death and rebirth of flesh, all in a single being, 'cause this spirits came from the Primordial Crucible, wich is in turn the sorce of all life in the Lands Between, men how i love talking about soulsborne lore😊
Hey Davi, I know a cool song which isnt from a game but I would love to see your reaction to it. Its the theme from shin godzilla called "Who Will Know"
Hey Davi! I'm a fan of yours, have been following you for quite a while. Just so you know, YT unsubscribed me from your channel. Dunno if you are aware of this, but here you go.
Love your work, man! Keep it up! Obrigado!
I love that no other track in the entire game is like this one, it stands out so well and tells a story. A story of a world long left behind, but still there at the foundation, passing on its knowledge and experience in the final moments. It begins almost like a random, but hauntingly beautiful composition that gets more… form as it goes on and an understanding between the Tarnished and the Spirit is made through their engagement.
pls davi for the love of god listen to "the world revolving deltarune" and give a review abt it maybe
I have a lot of the Elden Ring soundtrack on my Spotify playlist, but this one, Morgott and Maliketh really get a lot more play than the rest.
This fight is an experience. Not epic. Not heroic. Just something that every Elden Ring player should experience at least once, preferably twice.
Elden ring music is very beautiful
But I always found DS3 music more to my liking
