This is Kacee’s First Time Watching Reaction to the movie Galaxy Quest (1999). The cast of a science fiction show from the 1970s, who are now eking out a livelihood through reruns and science fiction conventions is beamed onboard an alien spacecraft. The group of aliens ask the celebrities for assistance in their attempt to overthrow the repressive rule in their solar system because they believe the cast’s epic on-screen dramas are historical records of real-life exploits.

Bring back Firefly
Although Lord of the Rings are my favourite films. I think Star Trek Next Generation would be the most fitting franchise for a reboot. The writing in many episodes had depth and in fact reminded me of the ancient tradition of the morality Tale.
i would like to see DARK ANGEL rebooted.
I was a kid in the 70s. Toys, TV Shows, Movies, Comics.
My first time here and I am SUBBING to you guys channel! Y'all are funny AND ENTERTAINING and have SO MUCH FUN!
I believe. they're called "Treckers" with real Star Trek actors.-
https://youtu.be/tsILzNjvYn0?t=21
when you talk over the dialogue, you really aren't catching it all.
I'd love a reboot of Sliders (and the Multiverse is in, right now)
firefly
Look up the documentary that they did about the making of the movie…it's very good.
"13 seconds, to redeem a mistake. Great writing!! ……The show didn't have it."
I had to pause on that one till I finished choking. Excellent.
Love to see a reboot of the man from uncle
Tony Shalhoub's character is stoned the entire time. That's why he was so chill and constantly snacking.
Film critic and historian created a list of his "Ten Perfect Movies." This movie was on this list.
I've always liked this one and Fanboys for focusing on the fandom and making it the star of the show.
Firefly, but do not reboot it. It'll be wokefied and ruined. Wait, have you guys watch the 1 season of Firefly and the movie "Serenity" that tied up loose ends?
Mostly in the 60s we were geeking out about comics and novels. Lost in Space, of course, and Time Tunnel and a lot of other shows you've probably never heard of. And then in 1966, we got Star Trek, and in 1968 we got 2001.
As a kid, I watched the first episode of Star Trek in 1966 and was surprised it was a series. Absolutely no one at the time thought it would become an international treasure. Enjoyed your reaction, thank you.
The 1960's you ask? You mean aside from THE ORIGINAL Star Trek???
Well, there was Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel, The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, The Munsters, The Addams Family, Superman, Batman, Dick Tracy … and of course The Jetsons. And that was just the more popular television series. There were dozens more.
Would you like someone to name some movies? I'll start: Planet of the Apes.
I think Casey hit this on the head. Artists never know what their work inspires, what it means to people, and it's easy to dismiss your own career without that knowledge.
Nerds of the 60s geeked out on Star Trek TOS, Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Heinlein, Asimov, Clarke, Sturgeon, thank you very much.
21:18 good thing that never happens in real life 😶
A reboot of my choice is tinged with fear. There is a tendency with modern Hollywood not to honor what came before but re-imagine or rather subvert and wreak what came before. My choice would be The Last Starfighter. Modern effects with either a restart or continuation of that story would be cool but I don't think Hollywood, as it is, has the talent or respect to pull it off.
I wish for someone to remake Robot-Jox, but we got Pacific Rim I guess. Still… Robot-Jox would be really great.
You should totally watch the invention of lying. . . Start that trend
The theme of "Galaxy Quest" is "Respect your fans!"
There's an anecdote on one of the S1 Farscape commentaries that some of the cast and crew went to see this and when they got back to work on Monday they had trouble taking anything seriously and were having fun quoting the movie.
Ash vs the evil dead.
One of the most underrated jokes in this movie is that Guy, who spends the movie shouting “Don’t open that! Is there air!” and “The aliens are evil!” gets a role in the reboot as the ‘Security Chief.’ Perfect casting.
There is no KotH without Luanne, and she's gone.
If the ship is pristine, it just makes people want to damage it to make a point So that lengthy scrape on the side of the ship and on the dock, that makes it "lived in."
It gives people confidence that it's functional.
…lol
Us 60's nerds geeked out on the Lord of the Rings – the BOOKs! And of course for movies – 2001 A Space Odyssey.
There is a fantastic quote written by Terry Pratchett, that you can find in the bbc christmas special, when Death is standing in for "The Hogfather" ( variation of Santa and x-mas)
This is the conversation between Susan (Death's "grand-daughter")
[ I am adding this in here as it seemed apropos to your conversation.
This absolutely Written by Terry Pratchett etc]
“All right," said Susan. "I'm not stupid. You're saying humans need… fantasies to make life bearable."REALLY? AS IF IT WAS SOME KIND OF PINK PILL? NO. HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN. TO BE THE PLACE WHERE THE FALLING ANGEL MEETS THE RISING APE."Tooth fairies? Hogfathers? Little—"YES. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START OUT LEARNING TO BELIEVE THE LITTLE LIES."So we can believe the big ones?"YES. JUSTICE. MERCY. DUTY. THAT SORT OF THING."They're not the same at all!"YOU THINK SO? THEN TAKE THE UNIVERSE AND GRIND IT DOWN TO THE FINEST POWDER AND SIEVE IT THROUGH THE FINEST SIEVE AND THEN SHOW ME ONE ATOM OF JUSTICE, ONE MOLECULE OF MERCY. AND YET—Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME…SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED."Yes, but people have got to believe that, or what's the point—"MY POINT EXACTLY.”
― Terry Pratchett, quote from Hogfather
Thank yiu for sharing your enjoyment and renewing the "magic" of the worlds We Make Real By Our Love
The kid pilot was a reference to Wesley Crusher in Star Trek NG…
You have to dream about it before you can do it… Science fiction has led to so much science fact…
Tim Allen (in this role) is as big of a ham as Bill Shatner.
