modern space government at it's best lowly ship capts. giving the order to go to war. where are all the fleet commanders, or def. force admirals? all these stories have capts., commanders and second officers running whole fleets.
Always doubtful to me … Captain leading planetary fleets ( no Admirals at least ) , second in command Lieutenant ? Do people know how many ranks are between Lieutenant and Captain in a fleet ?
I agree with the others below – HOW is it a Captain is leading a fleet?? All these writers make the same mistake every time. Just because a junior officer is the main protagonist DOESN'T mean a junior officer commands an entire fleet. Flag Officers lead fleets! Try more realism by making her an Admiral from the beginning.
