  1. Absolutely agree the production on mix on most Future Islands albums has been messy. Vocals recessed, midrange incoherent. Works on a few tracks but smothers most. Why their live sound, matched with the performance, has always stomped all over their studio work. Great if they’ve finally made an album that doesn’t sound like someone fell on the mixing desk.

  2. Man the fact that you shouted out 'Young Turks' is wild, I loved that song as a kid in the 80's and haven't heard it so long. I saw Future Islands last year with Weezer and I was very impressed by their live presence, haven't followed their album output much so I might have to go back then check out some of their other albums.
