Funtasia Circus – shot with the Sony FR7

I shot this a little while back with Sony’s FR7 remote Pan, Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) camera. The circus is the Funtasia Circus and I can’t recommend them enough if you are ever in the UK’s West Country, the shows are very entertaining and incredible value for the money.
I shot 4 shows with the FR7, two from floor level and 2 with the camera mounted high up on one of the support trusses for the big top tent. There is no way you could get this type of shot conventionally but the FR7 makes it pretty easy. The FR7 was fitted with a Sony 28-135mm power zoom and everything was controlled via a single ethernet cable to my laptop while I sat at the back of the normal audience seating area. The FR7 is a PTZ version of the Sony FX6 and it really does allow you to get some great shots thanks to it’s full frame sensor.
