From my understanding before you are hired on as a FBI or CIA agent there are extensive background checks and psychological evaluations performed to make sure you are equipped to manage the tasks and stressors of the position. The local police need to go through the same vetting process. We canāt have any Joe Blow on the street being accepted into the academy and given a badge and weapons.
