DeSantis is Trump Lite. If you like what Trump stands for, than you are ok with DeSantis, but most R base still prefer Trump. Trump, for all his many many (many!) faults, has charisma. DeSantis, like Hillary, doesn’t. In spades. Biden doesn’t really either, but Bernie (who I love) scares older Democrats. And Trump is just too much of a loose cannon to get enough independent moderates, after they saw his first four years. Biden is the very definition of moderate (too moderate for me, but not for the American electorate). It will again be close. I think PA won’t be quite as close, but GA will really have to work hard to continue to get out the black vote. It’s a shame R’s won the House, as it will really prevent Biden from helping more people.
I used to be a centrist but I refuse to vote for a party who’s only plan is revenge. Trump= revenge. It’s just insane. I don’t know if they’ll wake up before it’s too late to come up with actual ideas.

My understanding is that DeSantis can't announce until he passes a bill that allows him to remain in office. He has to change the law so he won't have to give up being Governor to run for President.
