It may just be me, but I'm hoping that post moon race, we stick with Apollo instead of jumping to the space shuttle. But that may just be me.
I'm curious how far the Apollo, or in this case, Trinity could be pushed.
why didnt the middle engine lit up
Awesome! Really missed this series!
Gods this is beautiful, I'm so glad that there's people who clearly care about the aesthetics of this type of thing making these videos! Keep it up :))
"We chose to go to the Moon not because it is easy but because if the Soviets get there first they won't shut up about it for a veeery long time."
Don't call it N1 its name is Slava!
Truly epic. I really love FAK, thank you so much ♥️
AW HECK YEAH! THE GLORIOUS USSR STILL WILL BE FIRST ON THE MOON!
What version of the game is this on ?
Is this going to be For all mankind thing?
Beacuse if it is well i'm waiting 🙂
Four words: I LOVE THIS CHANNEL ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎃🎃
Thank you for making these videos. I like the documentary style and the radio chatter is a wonderful addition.
Are these series reference to For all Mankind
imagine the plot twist: carnasa lawnch 4 rocket, perform few orbital assemblies and land one the moon first. it would be awsome. (i realy want to see an european lunar crewed mission, maybe with ariane 5 or 4 and lots of docking)
That Katurn V launch with the radio callouts out such a big, stupid grin on my face. It was so well done thank you for it.
I can't believe I missed this…
Simply wow… the level of detail is gorgeous and highly appreciated. For instance, the early shutdown of the first stage center engine and RCS prograde firing required to light the SPS engine. Thanks a lot!
Nonono, the Russians must win!
This really is one of the highest-quality series I've ever seen on YouTube. At first, I wanted beardy to win, then n9 after he pulled ahead now I just love the suspense you two make with these videos, I want it to be as close as possible. Your channel is criminally underrated.
The Trinity-1 launch audio and video are magnificent!

Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more…
I believe that even if Penguin lands second place … the fact TTL both Nations managed to achieve moon landings will keep the Space Race going and the kold war lukewarm…
It would appear that the Targaryens ain't got sht on the Kerbins. If ya kno what I mean…

Rest in Peace Jim McDivitt, Commander of Apollo 9, the real-life Trinity 1.
Hey, what config are you using to get the BDB LM working in ro/rp1?
I just started on this game. I wish I had the knowledge and skill to make a video like this one day…
God I love your vids, cheers!
good luck n9 plus can you name the lunar lander after my granddad please he died last year his name was richard millelot
I really look forward to every release by you, Beardy and Carnasa in this series. Love your attention to detail.
It was an expert launch of the N1. Am still pulling for TheBeardyPenguin to land first. If I had the time I would have played the Chinese. But it's just too far down the road.
HOLYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
Lovely skip re-entry on Trinity 2, well done.
Dude, this is SUCH a great video. Great job! I'll be watching it more later but for now I'm going to go play KSP!
what mod did you use to get a precise landing on episode 16?
Im hoping they both land within like an hour of each other, i think that would be very funny
GREAT narration. Wonderful production…. bravo!
This is the first of your videos I have watched. Your cinematography instincts are excellent.
I do have a technical film making critique: during a sequence of any particular maneuver, whether its a space craft, an airplane, or even an automobile, it is usually good practice to use the 180 rule. This means the camera can move anywhere within a 180 degree, spherical zone of the subject, but it should never cross over into the opposing sphere. With a moving object, this 180 line is usually parallel to the vehicle's direction of movement or a line drawn front to back of the vehicle. People instinctively register the direction the space craft is moving around the planet in the first establishing shot. If you cross over the 180 line in any subsequent shot without a transition pan, it suddenly appears that the craft is now orbiting in the opposite direction. In film school you learn that the only time you can break this rule without confusing the audience is if you include a panning shot from one side of the line to the other. This way the viewer knows the camera has transitioned to the other side of the 180 line. It's a small detail, but when the 180 rule is broken it often leads to viewer confusion even if it's only at a subconscious level. I personally would make sure in an Earth orbit that the camera is always located south of the 180 line simply because people are used to thinking and viewing the Earth as north-up. I would probably use the same camera direction for any other planet or moon.
A rat done bit my sister Nell
But whitey's on the moon
Her face and arms began to swell
But whitey's on the moon
I can't pay my doctor bills
But whitey's on the moon?
Ten years I'll be paying still
With whitey on the moon
To anyone else curious of the current Moonshot timeline: (dw no spoilers, but it is still the timeline so be warned)
06/64 – Soviet successful uncrewed test flight
08/64 – American successful uncrewed test flight
10/64 – Soviet Failed crewed LEO flight
11/64 – Soviet Successful crewed LEO flight
12/64 – Soviet Failed crewed lunar orbit
03/65 – Soviet Failed crewed lunar orbit (RIP 🙁 )
04/65 – American Successful Crewed LEO flight
05/65 – American Successful Crewed Lunar flight and (assumed) Soviet Crewed Lunar flight
Now onto some thoughts:
This race is insanely close, and the fact that they (probably) both are ready to go for lunar landing in the same MONTH is astonishing, and speaks to how amazing both of them are in this. Now onto speculation: the Soviets have had WAAY more launches, atleast double, and so the likeliness that everything goes well for beardy is extremely high, atleast in terms of TestFlight. From what I remember from these videos, Beardy has also put an emphasis on single-production rockets, which despite being less cost-efficient means the Soviets will be way more capable of spitting out another N1 very, very soon. On the flip side, we know that their Baikonur launch site is pretty poorly aligned with the moon, so it will likely be atleast another month before they are ready to launch (probably about the time they need to roll out anyways so nbd). We also know that N9 has doubled down on the moon landing, so he'll probably be using all 3 build lines for Saturn V production meaning he may very well have his newest Katurn already ready to go. KSC also has a much more convenient latitude, so my money is on N9 launching extremely soon, probably no later than mid-July. N9s biggest problem is his limited number of flights (and specifically engine failures) so while I dont know the individual engine reliabilities, I would bet that they are slightly lower than the N1's right now (then again more engine=more potential problems so we will see). This is really concerning for his lander system, but then again beardy is in the same boat. Either way, this is a nail biter, and I cant wait to see what happens! Thank you all for the amazing work you have put into this cinematic and dramatic masterpiece, I'm already pumped about season 2!
I wonder I n9 is part of the russian rocket failures.
It would also be cool to see developments of recon missions in kerbal vietnam and the development of the x15 jet
dock your spacecrafts and land together
SNOOPY never had enough fuel to land and return. This was done on purpose to prevent the astronauts from taking it upon themselves to alter the mission and land on the moon out of temptation. Astronauts knew this. Now you do, too. 🙋🇨🇦
Thanks for the great video. What graphics mods do you use? I thought the reflections on the spaceship were especially beautiful. Sorry if this is a duplicate question.

3 – NASA General Equations of Motion for a Damaged Asymmetric Aircraft:
Page 02: Rigid Body Equations of Motion Referenced to an Arbitrary Fixed Point on the Body There are several approaches that can be used to develop the general equations of motion. The one selected here starts with Newton’s laws applied to a collection of particles defining the rigid body (any number of dynamics or physics books can serve as references, e.g. reference 2). In this paper, the rigid body equations of motion over a “flat non-rotating Earth” are developed that are not necessarily referenced to the body’s center of mass.

(1) A point-mass vehicle
(2) A “flat, nonrotating Earth”

Love the music. Seems familiar to the show
I cant wait until 1970s when all the planets are aligned and he does a voyager mission, he will get so much science lol
Danm let Gordo and Ed land
Random Prediction: The Soviets and the American end up choosing the same landing site and they land only a Kilometer away from each other.
