Full Aserai Campaign w/ Advanced Tactics, Volume IX: The Madness of Avarice

Episode nine continues our Aserai campaign and also has focus on COMPANION perks, planning and philosophy.

Alrighty fellas, Wazu and his band continues to cross the sands of Calradia and smash everything, from beer mugs to bandits, that crosses his path.

The Playlist(start to current) is HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUtPo13es_g&list=PLp-wn4-QvebXXASvZoMicg1lXk2D2Ub5

A loose schedule for this series, looks like this:

New Episode every Friday and Sunday, and sometimes Wednesday. I’ll also mix in some extra/optional episodes covering some of the finer points of the campaign: Companion planning, Weapon Loadouts, Campaign Strategy, Mods used and discussion, and more…

This campaign will (eventually) feature gigantic battles featuring ultra-powerful enemy foes in huge sprawling slugfests, always in UHD/max graphics.

Thanks for all of the enthusiasm for this full-playthrough. Cheers!

  1. Maestro! I had a 2600 versus 680 troops. I was chasing one an they the valandians came after me with a giant force. We used cav screens. With infantry an cavalry squares.so I had my shock troops which covered infantry. Then I used my best attacking cav force. Full of high ranking family members. An we waited. They killed less than 150 an we killed 1800. All the lessons paid off in a big way. I didn't think I was ready. I almost save scummed.

  2. Wow! That went fast! Unbelievable victories. I'll get there, someday. For anyone (like me) that has a hard time re-organizing your troops after you get plopped down in a battle you can use the RTS mod to slow time while you make adjustments. It's kind of cheesy, but having 3 units of 100 or 300 troops puts me at a big disadvantage.

I only had one ad for Seven-11 that lasted about 5 seconds.

  3. This series is just amazing. It's so entertaining to watch you claw out a victory even when you expect to be defeated role-playing as a greedy man and expecting a fall of hubris, only to be rewarded with victory and riches. I can't wait to see more of this reckless abandon, I know the plan is to have him retire at some point but it'd be so satisfying for his story to end in hubris biting off more than he can chew for the last time.

  4. I think what we've hit is late stage capitalism, where we equate wealth with merit and government is beholden to their corporate overlords. Nothing changes until it is illegal for corporations to lobby (bribe) government representatives to pass laws which benefit corporations over the people.

  5. Love the life lessons, not preachy or “holier than thou”. Just good constructive advice that would make many people happier in life if they have a similar basic outlook. Attainable aspirations. I also like the gameplay, several levels above my standard but I’ll hopefully improve

  6. Another good episode! Depending on my mood, focus, and the video’s complexity, I watch at anywhere from 1.5x speed to 2x speed. If your analytics show a lot of people stop watching halfway through, those are most likely your 2x-speed viewers.

At least for portions of your campaign, I’d like to see you restrict your troop selection to Aserai only. It fosters more specialized tactics based on their unique strengths and weaknesses. In my current Aserai play through (inspired partly by yours), I donate all the other factions’ units I get as prisoners to the nearest friendly garrison. For reinforcements abroad, I only use bandits minor factions. The camel riders feel too appropriate to pass up on. It’s a fun added challenge.

  7. Awesome series brother!!!
That siege defense at the end was wild🔥 I’ve been able to pull oof some amazing siege defenses thanks to these videos.

Also love the role playing aspect,
It gives more life and urgency to the game. I played a Battanian smith turned warlord, his ultimate goal was to create a Kingdom for his son to inherit.
