  1. That would be 100% win if xbox has to sell cod ip since i dont like cod but love almost everyother activision game so all those studios could revive old activision ips and let ea sink cod 🤣

  2. Wow, glad the FTC is putting it's foot down where it matters, not food, or energy, but gaming, true heroes. Like I'm against giant corporations, but this is a hilarious line in the sand, when they could be focused on breaking up current monopolies

  3. This is a political move plain and simple. Let’s make an example of this merger and not something that really deserves it. I hope it goes through because I’d rather pay $15 than $70 for a game any day. Exclusives is what drive console sales. Let’s not act like this a new thing.

  4. Do we know how this situation might affect development for the studios they've acquired? I know Todd Howard of Bethesda said that he enjoyed only developing for PC and Xbox and I wonder if this situation might cause conditional agreements that have developers start re-working games for PS5 onward. Probably totally unrelated but still, do folks see it as a possibility?

  5. From where I’m standing most activation employees want the merger to happen because they want change in leadership
So if Sony or the FTC screw over this merger, there’s going to be a lotta unhappy employees, and they only have one person to point the finger at who do you thinks going to get screwed over here Xbox or Sony lol

  6. I'm fine with the FTC going after these big companies, but this seems like a dumb battle to pick. Especially with the b.s. statement they issued and Sony acting like they're the underdog in the industry.

  7. “NEW” Platform exclusive titles with VALUE spurn competition and growth.

“OLD” platform exclusives subtracted from the free market create negative growth (contraction) particularly in the case of Microsoft, a company that only knows how to kill the value in all game franchises they acquire, historically.

  8. While I agree that Putting in the Total revenue for all gaming is sort of misleading, I disagree that limiting the scope to Console specific is wrong or weird. IMO, Console gaming has always been it's own market and should be treated as such. I agree that the switch is not proper competition. It is a handheld and the other console.

  9. Hot take: exclusives are bad for competition, because it allows big hardware corps (Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo) to buy up studios and create market consolidation in witch it comes down to who has the bigger game studio catalog AKA games, and not witch hardware system plays games better ie: more frames, higher quality visuals, hardware features etc. Same idea with other industries (pointed out in the video), market consolidation is bad for competition and bad for the consumers.

  10. If we want things to get better in the industry, when do we start acknowledging bad actions and realizing that just because one corp did it doesn't mean we should keep doing it. Framing it on a level of fairness over actual impact will guarantee that the prices will go up in the products will get worse

  12. as a gamer who owns both consoles…i dont care about Microsoft owning this game or studio…i just find it a little hypocritical of Sony and the FTC targeting Microsoft for the very actions that Sony does the very evil type deals…like Spiderman and Final Fantasy!
