  1. Marc, when I first saw this pop up on my YouTube feed, I clicked somewhat anxiously to see your take. I have found that there are some that get very territorial about business in this industry which I can understand, however, I have always been a believer that we should be rooting each other on as our industry is small and that great opportunities will come to those who aim to operate with integrity. Based on your classy and thoughtful take here, I can tell you have a similar philosophy, and this is another indicator of why you have been successful in this 20-year journey with Long Island Watch. I know we have not spoken to one another before, but I hope you continue to succeed for many years to come! PS: I would love to meet one day.

  2. anyone know the name of that other watch store another big youtuber has? its two guys names put together who dont exist. tom and harry or something. It always struck me as super weird to make up random names as your business.

  4. Teddy and TGV started my rabbit hole, quickly got on to JOMW and Long Island Watch, and then MWC. I’ve now bought a watch used from Jody privately and two of his Erebus Origin’s, I’ve bought a bracelet and just the other day ordered a Bertucci from you Marc. Sadly none of the brands I can reasonably afford or the ones I’m into are available to ship to Australia from Teddy. Not sure what I was wanting to say here except, thank you Marc and thank you to all watch content creators for getting me into this awesome (and expensive 😅) hobby!

  5. A big congratulations to you too Marc, we’ve had the privilege of meeting several times and you are always a gentleman. You should congratulate yourself on nearly 200k subscribers and your own amazing collection. You are a big asset to the watch collecting family.

  6. I love Teddy but I've noticed in the last year his videos and website are speaking to a higher end client tail now. I get it and respect it. But I stopped watching because I see enough vids and pics on Instagram on watches I can't afford.

  7. You're all (all of you watch YouTubers) a part of an ecosystem. Teddy's channel was my gateway into this ecosystem and my gateway into automatic watches (I bought a Sternglas Naos from him). From there I got into watching videos from you (I'm here now) TGV's Urban Gentry, Watch Crunch, Just One More Watch, Brave Beaters, and many more. As we speak a delivery truck is about to deliver my Citizen Promaster NY0040-17L which I bought after watching TGV's video about the Marina Militare's dive watch. What's good for one of you is good for all of you.

  8. Marc, I bought my first automatic watch from you – an orient mako II. Any time I get a friend into watches, I recommend your store. A friend bought a turtle from you because of that. I bought a wedding gift Seiko from you. Sure you deal in a different category of watches but we never forget where we started!

  9. I FINALLY bought my first islander about a month ago just based off your videos and how honest and cool you are. The buying experience was so good and the watch was absolutely amazing. I bought 2 more the next week and they are my 3 favorite now (and I have a planet ocean). Islander blue waffle gmt, brookeville linen dial and manhasset

  10. Same thing happens in the automotive space. Doug Demuro started making videos like 10 years ago, Smoking Tire even older. Both have recently started businesses outside of youtube who's success can be heavily credited on the audience they've built up.

  11. thank you Mark, I showed this video to my 11 year old who wants to make money on YouTube interviewing town facilities and construction companies. it was concise and very enlightening, he just started and now has perspective @hardhatkid.

  12. I flip from hobby to hobby. Right now I have zero interest in watches though I check in from time to time. I was really into the hobby for quite a while, since 2008 and also got into servicing the watch however with today's prices, and the addiction of that next piece, I just got burned out. Bought an old air cooled 911 that needs tlc and I am enjoying working on it. While the purchase was massive, since I do all my own work, shockingly the maintenance, replaing old seals, fiddly bits, etc are actually inexpensive compared to the watch game.
