From Shadows to Light | The Model Village: Salaimendha | RAWE, CoA, Nagpur & VANAMATI, Nagpur.

The RAWE (Rural Awareness Work Experience) programme is a specialized initiative for final-year B.Sc. Agriculture students. It allows them to engage directly with rural communities by living and working in a village, where they conduct demonstrations, execute agricultural projects, and support farmers by sharing modern agricultural techniques.

Salaimendha is one such village adopted by Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (Dr. PDKV), Akola. Here, 19 final-year students from the College of Agriculture, Nagpur, were posted as part of their RAWE experience. Additionally, Vasantrao Naik State Agricultural Extension Management Training Institute (VANAMATI), Nagpur, provided internships to these students in collaboration with the college, enhancing their learning experience.

This video captures the students’ journey, highlighting their immersion in village life and their contributions to the local community throughout the programme.
