From Scrap To Scape – Transforming a Cheap Fish Tank from Facebook Marketplace

Hi All,

Today I thought it would be a bit of fun to pick up an old tank from Facebook Marketplace that was needing a bit of elbow grease and TLC, show you how you can bring an old tank back to life and make a nice aquascape from it to enjoy.

Hope you like it.

  1. if is dirty, probably wasnt ever cleaned, and prob never used razor to scratch it,
1M ago got a 150L tank, rounded corners, beautiful, for 20 euro, i was so so so hiped up while riding home, to find out it was full all over of scratches.
probably cuz of that tube beeing bent the filter wasnt going, and who had the aquarium had been losing fish all the time cuz of high poison in water
such a small detail can kill

  2. My best second hand tank is a 180gallon that came with a 60 gallon sump tank – $50 total. The 180 had a small pin hole leak which meant I had to remove all the silicone and redo it which was quite the task cause the tank is 30 inch tall.
That rock in the centre throws the scape off for me because the lines in the rock dont flow in same direction as the others.

  3. All my tanks are from marketplace. You can also make a decent profit buying cheap tanks cleaning them and selling them for higher. Just gotta find the right deal. Made the money I spend on the hobby back easily this way.

  4. Hello I have a random question but I just try to make a micro crab tank I have no filter plants and a thick layer of substrate I bought them but I just got the crabs and one came dead and I dropped my tank water into theirs to get them acclimated but to seem to be dead and one is very in active and then one is super active in exploring the tank I tested my water with a strip test and everything seemed fine could it possibly be something I’ve done wrong or maybe the bash that I got I do hope that you take the time to help me if not I completely understand I take inspiration from your videos
