    In Modern, before Ragavan, I had a goblin guide attack me and I had a tapped Temple Garden on turn 1 with 3 Ambushers in hand 😅😅😅
    I won that game and I'll never forget it! 😈

  6. 57:52 After re watching I realized Psychic Purge would of been good for the "better worded now" stream! I only knew of the legends version. I loved throwing 4 of those in a deck for picking off tokens/elves/goblins or anti discard/rack/black vise decks back in revised/4th era just to mess with my buddies. 👍

  7. It's kinda hard to believe that Masques block had a whole bunch free spells, but also in the same block a bunch of things like the Rhystic mechanic that allowed your opponent to prevent you from doing things.

  14. Sad to say that back in 2008 I was misreading shining shoal.

    I thought you could redirect the total next amount of damage that would be dealt so versus goblins I did 2x and said that the next 20 damage that would be dealt to me is redirected to opponent.

    My opponent agreed and we signed that I had won.

    But later I actually read the card again and really there's no way I would have redirected all the combat damage from all the individual goblins on the board.

  15. Force of Will became an important and critical card a bit later. I'd say the Academy decks in 1998 were about when it started. When it was printed, it was played, but it wasn't that needed. It was a 2-of in a lot of deck if you can believe it!! There were few threats worth a 2-for-1 (and absolutely none of them came down early) and you didn't have a lot of extra superfluous cards to pitch–no fetches so you didn't have Brainstorm in your decks, other cantrips not printed yet. You were better off keeping UU up for Mana Drain and Counterspell. You played a couple so you could defend your win condition late in the game but otherwise, you didn't want to be casting multiple FoW per game.

    Contagion though was immediate impact when it came out. Killing two pump knights or w/e for free was totally worth it.

I had 4 OG Physic Purges when I played in the late 90''s, I sometimes would play with all 4 main deck so that when someone wheel of fortuned I'd hit them for 5-20 damage, they won me a lot of games. Guerilla tactics was a good one too! Great video highly enjoyable, an hour doesn't seem like it when you're talking Magic Cards.
