  1. Congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL buck! I grew up hunting in that area and killed my first deer in those hills. I was eleven years old. I have watched you hunt that area and I will swear that I have hunted the same hills and gullies that you are hunting. It is a beautiful area. I would like to hunt it again before I get too old to chase up and down the hills.
    As usual, great video.

  2. The one regret I have is not going west to hunt one time. I always thought there would be time when my kids grew up. Then I got hurt, disabled and my dream ended. Can't walk far, can't sit still from pain and no strength in the legs. Don't put it off if you dream of going.

  3. 😅How come you never purchase a Cougar tag? It would sure help the deer population . Plus smoked cougar meat is delicious 😋 Love watching your videos. Always entertaining and your excitement on these hunts is infectious. Makes me smile wish I was there experiencing the thrill too. ❤

  4. There is no doubt in my mind that you must have some kind of pull with our Game and Fish department. I’m a resident with a CHAMP permit and haven’t been drawn in 2 years for the GMU that I also happen to live in. Ya got drawn in 21 and 3 years later in 24, with apparently 4 points at the most. I had 3 points for the 24 season. Good for you Randy. Well the 25 season I’ll have 4 points and hopefully get drawn. Been on average about every 6 years to get an Elk tag also. Well the positive is I really like going for the Javi and usually get drawn every year for that. I’ll be out there mid February looking for the Stinkers

  6. Very nice! Your B-roll is always so beautiful. I like how you pitched the hunt as a result of learning from a prior hunt, and how the Western Apache throve in the area. Good shot!

Oh! Is there a place where I can go and read the reasons for your choice of 7mm-08 caliber? Thanks! 🙂

  7. I can't remember ever seeing a fat native American in any of the old pictures. No hydrogenated vegetable oil for them. That's the coolest Coues buck I've seen. Shot a non-typical blacktail a couple years ago, which are rare; has a 10 inch spear coming out of the base of his right antler. In my experience, it's only the older mature bucks that get really knobby like that around the bases.

  8. I always love seeing you hunt in my home state. Bonus, Wade and Scotty… now it's a hunt! I've been gone for a few years but just retired and moving back later this year. No more applying as a NR. Congrats on a great animal. Can't wait to see what's next.
