I'm reading about culture and Daboll all of a sudden and read the same stuff about Judge initially.
Daboll was not about hiring a staff that was filled with cronies or buddies like Joe Judge. He hired a veteran professional staff and how often do they make adjustments on the fly like Belichick used to do on the sidelines with the Giants defense. Every game you'd see Belichick with his white board gather the players and he'd be like the mad scientist.
Two is Daboll is installing game plans that fit his players and the opposition. It's not this is my system hell or high water.
Again nowhere was that better shown than in 1990 with Parcells and Belichick in the playoffs.
Against the Bears the Giants inserted Mike Fox and went with a 4 man line to stuff the Bears running game.
Against the 49ers they used their standard 3 man line.
In SB 25 they said we can't let Kelly beat us and installed a 2 man line with 5 to 6 DB's and dared them to run Thomas and knew they also had to run and milk the clock and that is exactly what they did. The Giants had the ball for over 40 minutes.
The Bills in 1990 were better than the Giants on paper who were aging but Parcells outcoached Marv Levy and the rest is history!
All I read when Daboll was hired was Air Daboll and Kapka and thought that is stupid and ignorant. As the OC of Cleveland, Miami, and KC, Peyton Hillis, Reggie Bush, and Jamaal Charles had their best rushing seasons with Brian Daboll. For people to think he was going to coach like in Buffalo with Josh Allen was ridiculous! The Giants don't have similar Buffalo offensive players.
Lastly is people made a big deal last week of Saquon in the wildcat? Who used the wildcat in the NFL with Ronnie Brown in Miami?
