France Crumbles – Episode 36 – DIP v2 Legendary US Campaign

Things go from bad to worse for the French as the US Navy’s 16 inch armed vessels finish their refits and start hitting the French Empire. How long we can keep this offensive going is another question though, as the uncomfortable size of the Italians worries the White House.

  2. I believe the "Main Belt/Deck Penetration" reports come from hits to hull segments that are part citadel, part extended bits. Never observed those causing actual citadel damage and/or ammo explosions etc. though. Love the DIP content!

  3. Love to see a total conquest to see how far you could go
Maybe even limit yourself by say only cruisers? There versatile enough but lack the large hull of a bb and speed and small frame of a dd you can use the bc as youre cap killer and the ca as you're main brawlers. Sounds fun to me man. Just tossing ideas at ya

  4. I still think my prediction of the USS Rocket will come true of she survives to the end of the campaign. Then gets turned into a space battle cruiser and gets sent to fight the orks, the Martians and the klingons

  5. Looking forward, do you think more of the games base code will become accessible once the studio ends support? It would be nice to eventually get some things addressed that they seem opposed to changing.

  6. Invasion Fleet , after the battle with yhe French cruiser squadron:
"Sir, we could do with a port visit to restock the magazines, larders and top of the fuel." " Oh we could do with a bit of buffing out for the dents and dings."

  7. Maybe move the invasion calculation in the order of events. Have it calculate before the movement, so the AI can't move in and disrupt things last second without you even having a chance to fight them?

  8. To be fair, a smaller number of lighter ships can disporpotionally disruption an invasion by constantly threatening the ships transporting troops and supplies, and forcing the naval support fire to break off to deal with them regularly. I dunno as 10 to 1 is really fair, and the lack of missions being generated is obviously annoying as far as gameplay goes.

Seems to me it would be better if the invasion chance would scale both with tonnage in the area and victory points scored in the invasion zone, with perhaps a multiplier for defender tonnage (smaller than current) and an even smaller multiplier for attacker VP.

And of course, better mission generation when two fleets are in close proximity, especially if in an invasion zone.
