Today I will venture my way through the silent halls of an eerie abandoned hospital in South Georgia.
Built in 1968, this 52-bed hospital once included an emergency room and intensive care units employing 150 staff members. A few years after its opening, a corruption scandal engulfed the county and the institution was plunged into financial trouble. It was in 1974 that it first closed down.
The hospital reopened again in 1985. However, by the early 1990s, the threat of closing again loomed overhead since the corporation again accumulated a debt to the tune of $1 million.
Eventually, a rough decade later, cuts to Medicaid funding were the final nail in the coffin. A series of layoffs followed culminating in the facility’s closure by the end of 2001, leaving 9,000 people stranded with the closest hospital 90 minutes away,
Now, 20 years later, equipment is left strewn everywhere. Tons of patient records have remained entombed inside. Surgery rooms are left in a state of disarray. And even human blood samples of patients are left stored in the fridge.
Let’s immerse ourselves today in this abandoned facility also known as the “bad debt hospital”.

Nice to see you again Maureno ❤️ Miss you .❤️ And take care..❤️
It looks like they just closed over night, not having time to clear anything out.
If big factories/ business closed down, the hospital and community moved to a different areas
Where are you a medical student at. Which country. How many years have you been a medical student & what would you like to special in
It’s so very interesting, I always think to explore abandoned hospital is very scary because of the sick and dead in the past probably they spirit still around, I would be very scarred but watching your explore very enjoyable, thank you for sharing
Since my YouTube channel was deleted and terminated, this is my first comment since then. I love Maureno and Lesley. ♥️
What state is this? I’m betting Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia or someplace in Texas.
Maureno, Happy to see that you have been in America. I'm from Ohio. You both are one of my very best. 🥰 Praying for your safety here in America and everywhere you go. This video is unreal! I don't understand how personal info, etc.,etc.,etc. Is left behind. Thanks for the explore. Love to see more of you in the U.S.A. videos😊. God bless you and Leslie.😘
I really enjoyed this exploration. I love the homes so much , but this was interesting as well . I love how you always show such empathy and you genuinely care about all these forgotten places.
👍👍👍❤srdečný pozdrav zo Slovenska
what a shame !!
It's easy to find out what the name of this hospital was. I don't live far from it and the state needs to do something about it. It was Hancock Memorial Hospital. The medical records and bio-hazardous material needs to be removed. HIPPA laws were in place in 2001. They had just went into effect. They owe the patients they abandoned that much, to protect their privacy. I've never been there but it's ridiculous for it to remain in that state so long.
I love it, thanks, Meurino.
Good explore 😊 it was disturbing to see patients files being left behind.
Your explorations are very good. excellent but there is never the option of subtitles in Spanish. Thanks anyway, one less follower.
Unbelievable. Yes, this truely is a disgrace to find so much private patient's information so carelessly discarded. Some of the equipment could have been recycled & found a new use; homeless or domestic abuse shelter maybe? There are many other institutions found in this condition. Why doesn't the state properly take care of the demolition?

Deveriam ter doado todos esses materiais e equipamentos para instituições para que pudessem ser usados e não deixar que se deteriore dessa forma. Beijos de São Paulo-Brasil

MAURENO, I'm so sorry for your experience in America..we are a nation of people under attack by criminals and deranged.. We reject Socialism, Communism and Globalism and Perversion.. From the greatest country on Earth, a Citizen, my ❤. Thugs and thieves, the sick and ill rule here now.. They are the minority allowed to roam and victimize at will. The American people are mostly of one general lumped group by traits.. to take out a population, that's who you target.. Where not all insane here.. my Grandsons are not the targeted population..❤
