I Been Waiting So Long For You To Get A Tri 5 Truck! Let's Go!
Great video, can't wait for more. I had a 55 in same condition. I put 5 lug disc on the front with gm dual master cylinder and took out several springs for lowering. Rear end was junkyard second gen camero and fits just right. MrsHevyShevy has the same truck and MrHevyShevy put a Pontiac Firebird front end under it. Many videos too.
As a fellow Dan, I approve. If you're ever in Oklahoma I can find you some old cars down here that aren't rusted to death.
The moon is full in Alberta π
Throw it on an S-10 frame, paint it white with pink accents for Dani….
LOL Dan moves to Alberta and becomes a truck guy immediately. Not a normal truck either.. a 56 truck with a short box and small window.
Learned to drive a three on the tree in one just like that! Good times.
Wassup
Had a nice 56 Chevy pu , the cab is tight , no leg room , to hit the brake pedal you have to put your knees in your chin , but I do like the body style
I drove a 59 chevy stepside in high school. (86) brings back memories
Sucks the windshield got broke on the way home. π’
"Nope!…..i want the wheel!" lol
Looks like ππ
I would put it on a 4 wheel drive s10 frame. The 4 wheel drives are a wider wheel base and you can pull the front off have 2 wheel drive plus torsion bar system you can lower if needed.
Bad Chad mentioned in his latest bumper video he has a set of chrome try five truck bumpers that he would let go quite reasonable
Chuck a diesel in it
Im a truck guy to you the turn signals are stock not add on and most of those trucks were four speed manual on the floor so and automatic was rare his indication it was so he didn't put it in it Hydromatic transmission was a high cost accessory. I prefer the 58-59 personally.
And its a deluxe stock heater not aftermarket but does it have the large chrome controller
Don't lower it. They look terrible
More junkπ
hey Dan/Danni….Please check out Welder Series Components.. They're out of Canada.. Have some do it yourself crossmember kits…Mustang 11,,,,,….You can set up your desired width……I used one on my 52 Dodge truck…..power steering etc…Disc brakes/select your bolt pattern etc….I wouldn't steer you wrong buddy.
Check out my current build for low buck suspension upgrades
Hey Dan, welcome to the 55-59 Chev truck club. You'll find them away easier to work on than the Tri-five cars! Lots of parts out there, you and KMS Tools will get to know each other really well, they have a good selection of parts and great to deal with. REach out to Brent at HA Kustoms if you run into trouble, hes done about 4 of these trucks
I built a 57 gasser truck Dan. It was easy to do
The clickbait drew me in. The reveal sealed the deal. Canβt wait! Love the old Chevy pickups!! Keep up the great content guys!
I agree with her! Do NOT slam that truck. Keep it farm truck but with some good updated drivetrain
Now you are wrenching in my world ππ»ππΌπ§π§π§ those trucks are great. The aftermarket follows these truck great. You can do any option you want. If you are lowering, look at TCI front end kits π§π§ππ»ππΌ Iβm on my 8th truck of 55-57 generation. Probably going to drive the latest one on Hot Rod Drag Week this year ππ»ππΌππΌ
