  1. I gotta say I saw someone in the comments say how the models are old and the same since motorsport5 and someone made the point you can’t throw geometry at it but if you look at gt7 models they look leagues better and my only gt game I’ve played is 3 on ps2 gt7 cars just look breathtaking

  2. Am I the only one who thinks Forza's becoming a little complacent in terms of getting big-name cars to sell its new releases? Horizon 5 had the AMG One, fair enough, although I wouldn't say people were foaming at the mouth wanting to see that in a game(unlike, say, the Valkyrie), but that was it really, and looking at the carlist here there's nothing that jumps out as a 'cover car' either.

Yet I can go to Grid Legends, a deeply average game, and its final DLC that absolutely no-one is interested in or will buy, DLC for a game that was dead on release and has somehow managed to become more dead over time, has the Bugatti Bolide as its 'cover car'. How good would it be to see the Bolide in Motorsport? How many more copies would it sell as a result? I don't know, but it'd be interesting.

Project Cars 3 released with a suite of brand new hypercars unseen anywhere else: the Sian, the Evija, the Venom GT, the SF90, etc. Again, like Grid, a much smaller franchise than Forza. And eventually those cars came to Horizon 5(the Evija on release and the rest in updates and/or DLC). But only after they'd been in PC3 for quite a while.

It just feels like Microsoft isn't concerned with securing the licenses that would really excite a lot of fence-sitters. With Mike from Playground leaving – along with a group of core Horizon devs – to start a new company, simultaneously with the dramatic slowdown in quality of updates for Horizon 5 over the last few months, AND the fact that PG is tasked with developing the new Fable, getting started on a new Horizon, updating FH5 and releasing expansion 2…I'm concerned that MS aren't treating this franchise or the developers behind it with enough care and attention.

  3. Game looks great… duh. But how does it play? Why we don’t see anything helpful is frustrating. Forget your trees. What’s the balance of performance like? How are the leaderboards? Why is the Forza aero still so bad? Who knows but I sure hope they find some real players who know what’s up to help them out.

  4. I know the versions in FM8 are going to be super-detailed and visually on another level…but 20 locations really isn't that many. Compare it to Project Cars 2 and 3, which has twice that number, and in terms of actual tracks, five times it.

IDK….after all the PR bumph about FM8 being a complete reset, and that they were taking time off to 'totally reimagine' the series after it grew stale I was expecting something more different than this. I think we all were. Maybe the big changes are backloaded and we won't see them for a while, but I doubt it. So far it feels disappointingly predictable, and in some areas insultingly so, eg. that f***ing rear aero.

  6. Kind of random, but I would love for some more realistic crashes is FM. I want my car to roll, I want it to flip, I want actually huge penalties for bad driving. It’s very boring having a car literally land on another and all that happens is it slides off like the hit box is one big square (though it pretty much is). Please Playground, this would be awesome

  7. I think the chances the S15 model will be updated are slim when they showcased in the FM8 video the '69 Camaro that has had the same seriously innacurate model since FM1 (yes the first forza game) even though they said they were re-done from the ground up in FM5.

  8. I said the SAME thing when watching the video on their channel. I’d like to see a few different things, keying from GT7:

    1. Wheel offsets I.e. maybe lip adjustments, more wheel options and the ability to downsize from the stock wheel size. So tired of the horribly sunken in wheels options from 2010. Bring in the option to poke wheels out a bit and maybe even toss in camber options for drift builds.

    2. The Forza aero is just not good looking. I love the fact that GT7 gives you ability to do things like have a widened body option for all cars, even by a few mm’s! I like the things down to the bulb colors they have. The low, med and high wing options with the 26 different end plate options is just awesome. Even the paint selection is cool!

    3. Things like 2-step and anti lag and their fire effects are so awesome. The downshifts and the huge cracks of exhaust just make it so immersive. Those little details are key in racing games, especially with the ability that these consoles have now.

Overall, im excited for this game because im a Forza fan but I just hope they really get it right. Right now this is looking like a Forza 7.5 graphics update 😞

  9. The fact that these pea-brained excuses for developers are still reusing that dogshit, decade old wing model is just pathetic. They could at least pretend to care about their product!

  10. I'm not holding out much hope for improvements. Reduced car list and locations just scream DLC to me, they're already made but will be locked behind a paywall or subscription thing.
