Absolutely loved this! These were the cars of my teenage years. One high school buddy had a 69 Camaro SS with a 369 in it. (Accurate hood ornamentation for a SS in this vid, by the by.) Another had a Challenger (69 or 70 can't remember) with the 383 in it. Rob with that Camaro dominated just about everyone in the neighborhood. Loved seeing the Super Bee included here. It was pretty rare to see back then. I had a 67 Cougar with a 289. Couldn't keep up with any of those guys but it was stylish indeed. I lusted after a Barrcuda like the one Amy was driving but never owned one. The Impala in these races surprised me. They were the cruisers, the lowriders back then. Not considered a speed demon. Another buddy had a 69 Impala. You could like a dozen people in one of them, if'n you used the trunk. It was definitely the party in the hills or on the beach rig. Thank y'all so much for the nostalgia ride!!
Why do people always talk about these cars like they were huge and heavy? The Super Bee was smaller in every dimension than, say, an Audi A8 and weighed around 1300 lbs less. One of the bigger Mustangs of the day was still smaller than an A4 and, depending on options for both, weighed a couple hundred to a thousand pounds less.
Thanks for another video Alex. Will you be doing some more on FH5 when the 11th season starts? What about an Electric car race as this season has gone Green. Still waiting for some whacky Hotwheels circuits you guys make.
The 3rd gear in the GSX is the same as 4th in the others- 1:1. No advantage there for the last race.
The reason it took off is because it had 510 ft lbs of torque. The Hemis were close at 490 but otherwise, no contest out of these choices. Except maybe the Impala, I can't remember the 409's torque rating
I’ve got no clue why the devs made the Coronet Super Bee so light. Even a super basic one with no options shouldn’t be 250lbs lighter than the Charger and 380lbs lighter than the Challenger.
Watching you all hustle these around the circuits was so much fun to watch, really enjoyed this one! Would love to see even more challenges where old cars are forced to stay on stock suspension.
Kinda ironic how the lowrider culture is "low and slow" and the Impala is the most iconic low rider and it absolutely slaughters everything in a straight line here.
27:23 isn't the charger RT and the Super Bee basically just the same car? They look very similar in general body shape and size, got the same engine and just differ slightly in suspension and such
Very pleased to see the Impala win! The '64 Impala SS was my favorite car back when I was young… My first racing game was Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix, and the starting cars included a Scion TC, a Volkswagen Jetta… or your choice of either a 1978 Monte Carlo or a 1964 Impala SS.
While I originally picked the Monte Carlo for oddball factor, that primer-gray hotrod Impala served me well through several playthroughs. The damn thing had a habit of trying to twist itself into a pretzel from sheer torque when it launched.
You made so many mistakes in identifying automobiles I don't know where to start. The thing that hit me the most was on all those cars in high gear the ratio was one to one so whether you're 3 speed or a 4-speed it's still one to one. The Grand Sport has a 455 that is absolutely a torque monster and that's why it just walked away from everything else. I've driven or owned almost every one of these cars and the ones that beat others made no sense. That the Mopar's handle terribly because of the torsion bar front suspension was well known. They had no business being where they were on any kind of road course that's why you almost never saw them on the road course racing it's when folks were doing the Trans Am Series in the late sixties early seventies. These were typically called midsize cars in the US and then you had the larger full size cars like the Buick Electra, the LeSabre the olds 98, 88 and so on which is interesting because the Impala was also considered a full size car. On the Mopar side you have a Dodge Coronet or a Plymouth Roadrunner they're not both dodges. and I don't really have the energy to go on but there was more mistakes. I guess you had to have grown up in this era to see the errors. Either way it was a nice video, Thank you so much, Bob from Virginia USA

These muscle cars are from my era. The Super Bee is probably one of if not the fastest cars in this video…in a straight line. Nearly all US muscle cars were made to go fast a 1/4 mile at a time and the Super Bee was a 13.5 second 1/4 mile car.
Too bad this is useless information in online races. The Charger and Challenger are absolute meta and the Coronet is crap sadly. The Mach 1, GSX and Barracuda are a little off pace but fun all arounders. I'm not familiar with the rest
