I hadn't had a drink for 12 years, but after Hurricane Andrew, I found myself consuming half a tall glass of vodka so I could sleep for a few hours at night…daylight visuals of my neighborhood had turned into a 30 Mi dumpster surrounding me. There was no peace. No recovery seemed feasible. Time stops for no one except when your world is upside down.
