Pretty sure in the 90’s that train was on a dead set of tracks in Orlando at Church St. Along the live tracks. There was a convenience store on the corner where I used to get Italian ice as a kid. Not like a gas station. Since it was a tourist area it was a store that sold drinks, candy bars, ice cream, etc….
Crooked Harry Reid, dead, former Nevada senator tried to bilk investors which his snake oil community of coyote springs. It was a complete failure and fortunately he failed miserably and couldn’t cheat more people
Hey man, I just want to say I really enjoyed the video, it's really interesting to see from a european's perspective how some of the remote desert towns look like.
The reason behind the headlight sign is because when the roads heat up the air is diffracted coming off the surface and it is difficult to see oncoming vehicles especially small cars. Sometimes they are nearly invisible. The lights make them much easier to see especially in the hot months in Nevada.
I took this route, only going towards LV and Flaming Gorge (?) State Park. Came down from Ely. Stayed at the Overland, very cool and very haunted. Stood on that very corner L Ate at the Silver Cafe, good eats. Pioche is a cool little town
Daytime headlights are so other cars can see you coming. if you pass out there in the desert, sometimes there are heat waves going across the road. You cant see oncoming cars if the lights aren't on . This happens a lot on the long straight roads!
Wild mustangs are all over in Nevada. There are also a lot of wild burros/donkeys. Watched a few donkey baseball, and donkey basketball games! LOL They were fun!
The headlight sections of NV highways are to increase visibility of oncoming traffic and reduce accidents. Sometimes when the asphalt gets hot enough the mirrage effect can blend the highway right into the sky.
You were traveling through one of the largest meteorite strikes in history, the crater goes from near Las Vegas to near Ely 300 miles. The strike was 270 million years ago before California showed up and Nevada was a shallow sea. There is some semi-precious stone in the area called Alamo Breccia remnants of the strike.
I’ve only seen 2 of thes videos but it’s so funny how he talks about scorpions and snakes ( oh my ! ) to try and add some sense of danger to his boring commentary
Headlights on out in the desert makes seeing on coming cars easier to see. Especially during the hot summer months. Mirages can happen on the blacktop highways.
I was first in Pioche as a child, late 80's early 90's. Don't remember exactly when, but the tram was still up and the ore buckets were still in the air over the town. The last time I was there in 2020, the tram had been taken down, and the ore buckets were being used as decorations at places in the town.
You have many memorable moments in your episode here but I have to say I love the horses!!! The train out in the middle of nowhere like that. Area 51 you have given me the travel bug

I love 93. It's Pee-Oach NV. Back in the day, Pioche was the wildest of wild west towns. I lived there for time. Lincoln county is beautiful.
21:00 miners were incredibly inventive back in the day as they had little to work with, so they make it work!!!
