I ordered a tremor lariat maverick with bo options. What are the odds that I actually receive it? I haven’t even got a build date yet
I finally received my 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid with Lux pkg and spray in bed liner last week after ordering it in September 2021. It drives really quite well and I did get the price protection on my vehicle. The dealer did hose me with some of their add-ons, but it just means I won't have to worry too much about doing certain things aftermarket. My interest rate is also a littler higher than I was hoping for, but rates will likely go up even more.
enjoyed show tonight finisher
Perhapd there is a middle ground between "prices crashing" and MSRP contining to rise rapidly.
Many economists say we (the USA and probably Canada, too) are either already in a recession or likely will be later this year. Layoffs, especially in high-paying tech, have been huge. GM announced that it may offer HALF of its salaried workforce a buy-out package! Credit card balances & past-due are up. Repos of vehicles are up. These are bad omens.
If you look at recessions past, the automakers respond to market conditions. What did they do in '08? I'm not sure about MSRP but the incentives shot to the moon, employee pricing, longer warranties, etc. Also, with captive lenders, they can be more aggressive than some banks or credit unions in a high-interest rate environment. I know you said you'll be FRUSTRATED if this happens but if not these things, what in a challenging environment?
Almost the exact same Maverick that I have on order (XLT with luxury package and copilot 360; different color is all) showed up at a local Carmax 2 weeks ago. Got a nice test drive, my wife liked it too, but of course I didn't buy because they marked it up about $10K! For that much money I'm happy to be patient. My 15 year old Toyota still drives fine and is extremely reliable.
Finisher That explains a lot about Marie Maverick being delayed. Thanks for all that info!!
Now 17 months and nothing, crickets, on my ordered 2022 now 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid. I’ll give you my opinion as a 72 year old with some experience in economics. In my opinion the auto manufacturers are pricing Many people out of the new vehicle market. I pay cash, but I’m sure most are leasing or make payments. Like a house, it’s a loan your paying back monthly. How much can people afford to pay. Have a mortgage? When I add up all the payment costs for a home and car payments, your income better be able to cover those costs plus all the rest to live on. For many many people, they are getting squeezed more and more every month. At some point it’s not computing. And that’s when the Big Problems start to happen. This bank stuff is just getting started and it’s like a wave of shocks to the system. So I’m not in the camp that says $2000 increases in vehicle prices can continue without pain ahead. My guess is eventually sales will slow and dealers will have issues selling. Interest rates are not going lower for a long time and this will bring pain to buyers and sellers. Best of luck.
Hey Johnny love the videos as a fellow canadian always like getting that extra info. Wondering how popular you think the new ranger will be? Should I be rushing to the dealer when it becomes available?
Johnny get well soon
