Focus on the Family seems to have the recipe for hated turned political. They get a boatload of money from their media appearances, twist research to support their crusade against lgbtq+ people, and have their own political organization that teaches people how to vote. The new leader says it will get less harmful as their speech continues to spread across the world. But, with the founder, James Dobson’s horrific viewpoints steeped deeply into the organization, and their continued use of conversion therapy, this doesn’t seem very likely.

Question is how do you undo the damage these wingnuts have caused?
You do state the problem, but you never seem to hint of a possible solution.
FotF sounds great I’m not even being sarcastic if you get an abortion your killing someone if your gay your going against God you need to turn from your sin and repent and turn to God. I don’t see why every organization that doesn’t agree with you and your agenda it evil and needs to be stopped. You paint these people to be devils for fighting for what they believe in.
Funny how there are many minors in conversion therapy who, from their standards, are getting groomed into a sexuality, since apparentlz something as little as talking to a person with a different sexuality changes yours. So they are, by their own definition, pedophiles
I love the sheer irony of ultraconservatives claiming to defend the family yet doesn't realize their policies actually harm families not to mention that everything evolve over time – including family.
Family loves and cares for you, and doesn't judge your orientation. Family supports you when no one else does. Family is unconditional love. That's all. Anything else is a bastardization of that.
The whole identity crisis leading to being gay thing seems to be a weird corruption and fusion of Erik Erikson's 8 Stages of Psychological Development and general Freudian ideals, primarily the Oedipus Complex. Given the background of the founder has in psychology it makes some level of sense that he would bend and twist these two concepts to to fit the narrative he wanted.

I always wonder what has happened to christianity? What happened to loving and protecting those who are smaller than you. It seems this fake Christianity it a complete 180 of the real one , twisted by the devil to destroy christianity for once. Or it has become to big, and thus to spread out to trule understand God's words.
Focus on the family isn't just dangerous to those the lgbtq+ community but to everyone because they're not focused on helping families rather they want to force everyone to have children regardless of if they want them or can afford to take care of them & get married to the opposite sex regardless of the person's gender identity & sexuality

I met a guy in college who claims he is the reason they have security guards- growing up in the Springs he and a friend would drive around the Focus on the Family parking lot and steal the Jesus fish off of the cars. I doubt that's true but it was entertaining.
Who can imagine these guys as villains in a movie or like villains in the anime monster
I guess they forgot the most important of all traditional family values; radically unconditional love (ie the love a parent still feels even for a criminal child). Also, news flash those values can and do exist outside of traditional environments. I was raised by my single grandmother from 7 on. And it was in that setting I experienced and learned those very traditions in a positive way. But then again she also simple said "you're still you, just a more honest and open you now" when I came out as queer and later Trans.
I remember turning to Dobson in desperation when raising my special needs kids. The parenting books were not as helpful as I hoped. They advocated physical punishment as long as you didn't do it in anger. yeah didn't help.
